WARNING
Do not use the cruise control when
driving under the following condi-
tions:
O
when it is not possible to keep the
vehicle at set speed.
O
in heavy traffic or in traffic that
varies in speed.
O
on winding or hilly roads.
O
on slippery roads (rain, snow,
ice, etc.)
O
in very windy areas.
O
Doing so could cause a loss of
vehicle control and result in an
accident.
BREAK-IN SCHEDULE
Your driving habits during the first 1,000 miles
(1,600 km) of vehicle operation are important
to the future reliability and economy of your
new INFINITI. Listed below are driving recom-
mendations that will allow proper break-in of
engine components. Driving the vehicle too
hard during the break-in may result in vehicle
damage or shortened engine life.
O Do not run the engine over 4,000 rpm.
Do not drive over the following speed
limits:
H position:
50 MPH (80 km/h)
4LO position:
30 MPH (50 km/h)
O Do not accelerate hard in top gear.
O Avoid quick starts and full acceleration.
O Avoid hard stops as much as possible.
O For the first 300 miles (500 km), it is
recommended that you drive in the
2-wheel drive (H) position.
O Do not tow a trailer for the first 500 miles
(800 km).
ECONOMY HINTS
O Accelerate slowly and smoothly. Maintain
cruising speeds with a constant accelerator
position.
O Drive at moderate speeds on the highway.
O Driving at high speeds will lower fuel
economy.
O Avoid unnecessary stopping and braking.
Keep a safe distance behind other vehicles.
O Select a gear range suitable to road con-
ditions.
O Avoid unnecessary prolonged engine
idling.
O Keep your engine tuned up.
