To help reduce the impact on our environment, not only
have we come up with a solution, we’ve designed many.
BlueMotion Technologies is our contribution to sustainable motoring. This means we offer optimum
solutions for every demand, which makes driving more fuel efficient. Lower fuel consumption and lower
emission diesel engines allied with BlueMotion Technologies are friendlier to the environment and your
wallet, without having to give up everyday practicality and comfort.
Both diesel engines also feature BlueMotion Technology, a series of technologies which help reduce
CO
2
emissions and improve your fuel consumption. These include a multifunction computer (Highline)
including visual gear change recommendation for optimum fuel consumption, battery regeneration
(recuperation – energy recovery during braking) and a Start/Stop function that can cleverly switch the
engine off when your vehicle is stationary and in neutral and start it again as you depress the clutch, all
combine to aid increased efficiency. A combination of all these refinements on the Passat CC BlueMotion
Technology and Passat CC GT BlueMotion Technology means the 2.0 litre TDI 140 PS engine delivers a
package that offers outstanding economy up to 60.1 mpg over the Combined fuel cycle*, and the high
performance Passat GT BlueMotion Technology 2.0 TDI 170 PS engine ensures CO
2
emissions
of 129 g/km, which all go a long way to being friendlier to the the environment and also your wallet.
Externally, Volkswagen’s ‘BlueMotion Technology’ badging identifies the cleanest, most energy-efficient
cars in our range. So when you see this logo you’ll know we’re talking about ways to cut emissions
and the cost of your motoring. Environmental technologies of today are meeting the driving challenges
of tomorrow with one very important aim: to reduce the impact of our cars on the environment for
future generations.
