Off-Road Navigation
In addition to the menus for entering the
destination and the path to the destination,
the radio/navigation system provides a
further navigation option with the “Off-road
tour” menu.
It is especially useful during off-road
driving where digital information is
not available.
The transition between the two navigation
types from standard to off-road occurs
automatically. However, the system does
not automatically switch back from off-road
to standard navigation.
Off-road navigation can be selected using
function key “Off-road tour” in the
“Destination” submenu.
The off-road functions have the following
possible selections:
Recording, calling up, and editing GPS-
coded off-road tours.
Placing way points within tours and
assigning names to them to mark special
locations (e.g. “Hunting lodge,” see flag
5 in the illustration).
Display of the next way point by a red
flag and an arrow.
Compass display with position
information in degrees, minutes, and
seconds.
Reverse function enables the use of the
recorded way points so that they can also
be driven in the opposite direction.
