b) Charging batteries without balancer connection (“CHARGE”)
After selecting “CHARGE”, the following display appears, for example:
LiPo CHARGE
2.0A 11.1V(3S)
The value on the left in the second line shows the charge current, the value on the right shows
the voltage or number of cells of the battery pack (in this example, a 3-cell LiPo battery pack,
3x3.7V=11.1V)
Select the battery type (LiPo, LiIon, LiFe) as described in chapter 16.
1. If the values need to be changed, press the “Start/Enter” button. The charge current begins to
ash. Change the charge current using the buttons “INC” and “DEC”, conrm the value using the
“Start/Enter” button.
2. The voltage then begins to ash. Change it using the buttons “INC” and “DEC”. You should be
aware while doing this that the voltage only changes with the number of cells (e.g. one cell = 3.7V,
two cells 7.4V etc.) Conrm the setting by pressing the “Start/Enter” button.
3. To begin the charging process, keep the “Start/Enter” button pressed (approx. 3 seconds).
4. The charger detects the batteries and displays the appropriate information on the LCD. The
following display ashes alternatively:
R: 3SER S: 3SER
CONFIRM(ENTER)
- The “R” value indicates the number of cells detected by the charger.
- The “S” value indicates the number of cells set in the menu.
If these two numbers do not match, please check the settings on the charger and
the battery itself. It may be that the LiPo battery has been completely discharged,
or a cell may be defective. In this case, the battery should not be charged, as there
is a risk of re and explosion!
You can return to the previous conguration menu using the “Batt Type/Stop”
button.
5. If the two numbers match, you can start the charging process by quickly pressing the “Start/ Enter”
button.
6. Once the charging process has been started, various pieces of information about the current
charging progress are displayed, see next image:
