b) Degree of emission of different surfaces
The emission degrees listed in the table are approximates. Various parameters, such as geometry and surface qual-
ity, may inuence the emission degree of an object.
The meter is delivered with a pre-set emission degree of 0.95. It matches for most non-metal materials. The IR
measuring method is only conditionally suitable for blank metals and requires a special surface treatment (e.g. matte
insulation tape, etc.) or pre-setting of the corresponding degree of emission.
