Venting tap for TAMD61, -62, -71, -72
Venting tap for TAMD63
Check that the cooling system is properly vented by
carefully opening the ventilation tap after you have
started the engine and it has reached operating
temperature.
Evacuate any remaining air in the same way.
Sea water filter, inspection and
cleaning
NOTE! Close the bottom taps and drain any water in
the sea water system before cleaning the sea water
filter.
Volvo Penta sells two kinds of sea water filter.
A smaller filter with a transparent perspex (plexiglass)
lid and a larger filter with a sheet metal lid.
Since the time interval between cleaning is strongly
dependent on operating conditions, the interval should
be determined by experience after a period of
operation.
This means that the filter may have to be cleaned
more often than specified in the maintenance
schedule.
NOTE! When the engine is running, it is very
important that the sea water supply is never
restricted.
1
Remove lid (1) and lift the insert up.
2
Clean the insert and the housing (2).
3
Install the components as in the figures above. Check
the gasket and O-ring. Change if necessary.
4
Open the sea cocks and check that no leakage
occurs.
