General Information
When is the Airbag Deployed?
The airbag is only deployed during a head-on collision, where the
vehicle hits a fixed or heavy object with sufficient force. The SRS
system registers both the force of the collision and the internal forces
caused by the collision. The control unit determines if the collision is
sufficiently violent for the airbag to be deployed.
The SRS system is only activated once in a collision. If
the airbag has deployed, the following is
recommended:
앫 Have the vehicle towed to an authorized Volvo
Truck dealer. Even if the vehicle can be driven
after a collision, it is not recommended to drive
the truck with the airbag deployed.
앫 Have an authorized Volvo Truck dealer change the
components in the SRS system.
앫 Only use original Volvo parts when replacing the
SRS system components (airbag, safety belt,
etc.).
