Never operate the starter without first placing the
transmission in neutral or depressing the clutch
pedal. Failure to follow these instructions may
result in the unintentional movement of the vehicle
resulting in property damage, personal injury or
death.
1. Before starting the engine, perform the engine pre-trip inspection
and daily maintenance checks in “PRE-TRIP INSPECTION AND
DAILY MAINTENANCE” on page 220.
2. Make sure the parking brakes are engaged.
