Unlocking the Fifth Wheel
Always check out the entire fifth wheel before attempting to couple to a
trailer (ASF fifth wheel is shown).
앫 If not lubricated properly, add grease to the top of the fifth wheel
plate.
앫 Make sure the mounting of the fifth wheel to the frame is tight and
in good condition.
앫 If using a sliding fifth wheel, make sure the slide locking plungers
are in a locked position.
The following instructions are for preparing the fifth wheel for coupling
to a trailer:
Rotate the safety latch toward the rear of the fifth wheel.
