GETTING STARTED Before operating, ALWAYS reach under the humidifier and lift from the bottom. Lifting the recessed handle on the Water Tank will cause the tank to detach from the humidifier. Before use, check appliance for visible damage. DO NOT USE if there is evidence of damage. If any damage is found, contact Vornado Air, LLC at 1-800-234-0604. Check for Leaks Damage due to shipping may cause leaks in Base or Water Tank. A visual inspection may not reveal hairline fractures. 1.

CONTROLS HUMIDISTAT Reads humidity in the room for automatic humidity control. HUMIDITY Control humidity level at 35%–60%, or allow unit to run continuously. POWER ON/OFF Turn the humidifier On/Off. FAN SPEED Select desired HIGH or LOW fan speed, or AUTO mode.
FILLING WATER TANK 1. Unplug humidifier and place on level surface, such as floor. A B C D Note: Spills can occur during cleaning, moving or refilling Water Tank, so be careful to avoid spills when doing these activities. 2. Remove Water Tank by grasping recessed handle and pulling toward you (A). 3. Turn Water Tank upside down and remove Cap (B). 4. Fill Water Tank with cool tap water (C). 5. Ensure Gasket (rubber ring around Cap) is properly positioned and replace Cap.
HOW TO USE 1. Position humidifier to not blow directly on objects or plants. Plug power cord into 110–120 volt AC outlet. 2. To turn humidifier on, press Power Button. The indicator lights for Fan Speed and Humidity Level will set to first use default setting – HIGH fan speed, Continuous humidity. HIGH Operation for fast humidification for larger rooms. High speed operation will evaporate 2.6 gallons of water (+/- 10%) in 24 hours of continuous operation.
REPLACING WICK While your humidifier came equipped with a Wick, you will eventually have to replace it, as they last approximately 4–8 weeks, depending on use. Many factors affect the life of the Wicks, including amount of use, water hardness and outside environmental factors. You will know the Wick needs to be replaced when it becomes hard and is no longer absorbing the water effectively. Replace the Wick with a genuine Vornado® Wick.
CLEANING Proper cleaning of your Evaporative Whole Room Humidifier is essential to the air quality and performance of your humidifier. The frequency in which your humidifier will need to be cleaned will vary depending on use, water hardness and outside environmental factors. It is recommended, assuming average use, to thoroughly clean the unit several times throughout the season, or when algae, mineral deposits or other particles begin to form. E F 1 tsp. CLEANING Note: If the humidifier is turned Off with water in Base and not turned back on for 8 hours or longer, or if humidifier is not cleaned as recommended, you may experience some growth of algae or bacteria. STORAGE TIPS During the off-season or after extended periods of non-use, you may choose to store your humidifier. To ensure long life of the product, it is recommended to store your humidifier by following these instructions: Be aware of several things as your Vornado® Evaporative Whole Room Humidifier operates: Cleaning is recommended before storage. 1. Unplug power cord and bundle loosely. 2. Let humidifier dry completely before storing. Do not store with water inside Water Tank or Base.
TROUBLESHOOTING PROBLEM Unit fails to power on. POSSIBLE CAUSE AND SOLUTION Unit is not plugged in. Plug power cord into electrical outlet. Household circuit breaker/ground fault circuit interrupter has tripped or blown fuse. Reset circuit breaker/ ground fault circuit interrupter, or replace fuse. For assistance, contact licensed electrician. Unit is damaged or in need of repair. Cease usage and unplug. Contact Consumer Service for assistance. Unit makes bubbling or gurgling sound. This is normal.
