Congratulations on parting with your hard earned cash, and getting yourself the future classic, AC4TVH! Even though, historically, VOX has produced an AC4 (a 4 Watt, Single-Ended Amplifier), it was decided that a mere re-issue was not going to be enough. The original AC4 used the EF86 Preamp Pentode tube and an EL84 Power Pentode tube. This tube complement was fine for the 1950s guitarist, as there was no cascading preamp gain stage. This meant the amplifier would not overdrive well.

INTRODUCTION Bien que VOX ait sorti un AC4 (un ampli 4W de classe A), il a été décidé qu’une simple réédition n’était pas suffisante. L’AC4 original utilisait une pentode de préampli EF86 et une pentode de puissance EL84. Cet agencement des lampes était parfait pour le guitariste des années 1950 qui ne devait pas mettre des étages de gain en cascade pour saturer le préampli. Un tel amplificateur ne délivre pas de superbe distorsion.

Obwohl sich VOX auf eine Neuauflage des AC4 (einem 4W-Verstärker) hätte beschränken können, erschien uns das etwas zu einfach. Der Ur-AC4 enthielt eine EF86-Vorverstärker- und eine EL84Leistungspentodenröhre. Diese Röhren waren zwar OK für Gitarristen der 1950er, aber dem Amp fehlte eine Kaskadenschaltung im Vorverstärkerbereich. Somit war schweres Braten unmöglich.

INTRODUCCIÓN Felicidades por gastarte el dinero en un futuro clásico, ¡el AC4TVH! Aunque VOX fabricó realmente el AC4 (un amplificador de 4 vatios), decidimos que una simple reedición no era suficiente.
