Firmware update
From time to time it is recommended that you
check for new versions of firmware. Firmware
upgrades may enhance the experience when
using the ARAP50 or provide fixes to future bugs.
You may also need a firmware upgrade if you
experience a firmware error (signaled by the
power light with a red light blinking
rapidly for an extended period).
Using the Acoustic Research AR Connect App
Download the free Acoustic Research AR
Connect App (search for AR Connect to find the
App) from the iTunes store on your iPad, iPhone,
or iPod touch. This App enables firmware
updates on the ARAP50. Connect your iPad,
iPhone, or iPod touch to the ARAP50 via the sync
cable.
Make sure you have turned on the unit. Select
Firmware Update from the App. It will initiate
the unit to start updating the firmware. Follow
the on-screen instructions to complete the
update.
Once the firmware update
process has started, any playback
will be paused, and the unit will
not respond to any buttons you press.
Never disconnect the power for ARAP50
when update is in process.
Using the Web Tool
You may need to use the Web Tool to update
firmware on the ARAP50 if you do not have an
iPad, iPhone, or iPod touch available, or if your
network requires advanced network settings
during the setup process. Visit
http://www.acoustic-research.com/
search/?sku=ARAP50 for more information on
using the Web Tool.
