EX-USB (when using the PCM expansion option)
If you’ve used the PCM expansion option to add multisamples to the M3, the added multi-
samples will also be accessible from M3 Editor.
When you load or unload the KEP file (multisamples) of the PCM expansion option on the
M3 itself, M3 Editor can synchronize with the M3 so that the multisample names will match
those in the M3.
If the “Sync EX-USB Banks automatically” (p.56) setting is selected in the GLOBAL mode
Software Setup section, M3 Editor will automatically add or delete the multisample names
when you load or unload a KEP file (multisamples) of the PCM expansion option on the M3
itself.
If this setting is not selected, a message box will appear each time you load or unload the KEP
file (multisamples), asking whether you want to synchronize the multisample names.
If you choose OK, the multisample names will immediately be synchronized with the M3. If
you choose Cancel, the multisample names will not be synchronized, but you can synchro-
nize with the M3 itself at any time by executing the UTILITY menu command Synchronize
EX-USB Banks.
If you also loaded the PCG file at the same time that you loaded the KEP file, use the UTILITY
menu to receive a data dump for the Programs/Combinations of the corresponding bank so
that they will be synchronized with the M3 itself.
Note: The EX-USB support functions (the UTILITY menu “Synchronize RAM/EX-USB
Banks” and the GLOBAL mode Software Setup page “Sync EX-USB Banks automatically”
commands) are shown only when connected to an M3 that supports EX-USB.
