oduction intr Thank you for purchasing InnoTab® 3S The Wi-Fi Learning App Tablet! InnoTab® 3S is a multi-function, touch screen tablet for 3-9 year olds. Kids will love using InnoTab® 3S to take photos and videos, read e-books, listen to music, play games, and more. With microSD card expanded memory, and new apps being added all the time, InnoTab® 3S is a great tablet for busy kids on the go.

AC Adapter Jack Use this to connect an AC/DC Adapter. Headphone Jack Use this to connect headphones (sold separately). Power Button Press this button to turn InnoTab® 3S on or off. USB Port Plug the included USB cable into this USB port to connect the tablet to your computer.
ting started Ge t Stylus Fastener Battery Door Lock Sliding Switches microSD Memory Card Slot Battery Compartments Use the stylus string to attach the stylus to this fastener. Slide these switches to open the battery doors. Always replace the InnoTab® 3S battery doors after changing batteries. Insert a microSD memory card (not included). (NOTE: InnoTab ® 3S is compatible with microSD memory cards up to 32GB.) Insert 4 "AA" batteries or the rechargeable batter y packs.
ting started Ge t Note: The AC adapter is not a toy and should only be handled by an adult. 3. You can continue to use the InnoTab® while the AC adapter is connected, but the batteries will not charge while the InnoTab® is on. When you’re done playing, turn the power off and leave the tablet connected to a wall outlet to charge it. 4. The green light on the tablet will flash to indicate charging is in progress. When the batteries are fully charged the light will turn to a solid color.
ting started Ge t • Batteries may contain hazardous materials, and may be nondisposable. Please contact a recycling company for a proper disposal method. • Avoid mixing batteries of different sizes and capacities in your electronic device. This charger is not a toy. This charger is not intended for use by children. Do not recharge non-rechargeable batteries. NOTE: When InnoTab ® 3S is running on batteries, you may see this icon appear on the screen .
ting started Ge t How to Play STEP 1: Turn InnoTab® 3S On Turn InnoTab® 3S on by holding down the Power button for a few seconds. A VTech® logo and an InnoTab® 3S logo will appear and remain onscreen for a few seconds. STEP 2: Personalize Your Profile The first time you turn on InnoTab® 3S, you will be asked to set the date & time and personalize your profile. When you are asked to enter your name, use the on-screen keyboard to type in your name, and touch “OK” when you’re done.
ting started Ge t Cartridge Icon: If an InnoTab® cartridge (sold separately) is inserted, touch the cartridge icon to play. Downloads: Touch the Downloads icon to download, view, play, or manage any download content. Status Bar Wi-Fi Status Time Name Wi-Fi Status - This shows the current Wi-Fi status. Please refer to the below chart. Wi-Fi Off. Wi-Fi On, but currently disconnected. Wi-Fi On and connected. The more bars you see, the stronger the connection. Name - The profile name is displayed here.

New From VTech® Touch the New From VTech® icon to watch video news from VTech®. This video will be updated automatically upon connection to Learning LodgeTM using Wi-Fi. Getting Started With Wi-Fi To use the Wi-Fi enabled features on InnoTab® 3S, you will need to register your tablet on Learning LodgeTM first.
ting started Ge t • When the connection is successful your InnoTab® 3S will show a “Connected to Computer” screen (image 5). • If you have not already installed Learning Lodge™ on your computer, the Learning Lodge™ Setup Program will automatically launch. Follow the prompts on-screen to complete the installation. • For help using Learning Lodge™ refer to the Help section of the program.
ting started Ge t - Click “Install” to begin the installation. - Follow the on-screen prompts to install Learning Lodge™. • CD Installation (for Macintosh Computers) - Insert the Learning Lodge™ CD into the CD-ROM drive. - Double click the “VTech Toy Setup” icon in the pop-up window. - Select the InnoTab® 3S version of Learning Lodge™ on the installation screen. - Click “Install” to begin the installation. - Follow the on-screen prompts to install Learning Lodge™.
tent con Setting Up Your Wi-Fi Connection on InnoTab® 3S 1. After you have registered your InnoTab® 3S on Learning LodgeTM, turn the tablet off and disconnect it from your computer. 2. Wi-F i Enabled Features Wish List Maker With the Wish List Maker, your child can create wish lists of the downloadable apps they want from our Learning Lodge™ library, and then send the wish lists to the e-mail address that is registered in the Parent Account on Learning Lodge™. You can decide to purchase items on the wish list by following instructions in the e-mail. Purchased content can be downloaded to InnoTab® 3S using the Wi-Fi connection.

Before your child can communicate with anyone, the contact must be established or approved by you first. *Voice messages, photos, drawings, and some animated stickers can only be sent from the InnoTab 3S® after you upgrade the app to the Premium version (sold separately - available Fall 2013 through Learning Lodge™). Using Kid Connect on the InnoTab® 3S requires VTech® to provide a data service. Service is free for one year from the date of registration.
• Viewing Your Child’s Contact List To see your child’s contacts, first go to your contact list and click the icon to the far right of your child’s name. Your child’s contact list will appear. Your name and the names of any other children you have registered for Kid Connect will appear at the top of the list in the Immediate Family section. These contacts are automatically added when you register and cannot be removed.

We will send an e-mail to your family member with an invitation to join Kid Connect and a link to download and install the application on a mobile device. Once your family member has signed up, he or she will appear in your child’s contact list and can start communicating with your child.
CO N TE N T Parental Controls Touch the Parental Controls icon on the tool bar at the bottom of the browser interface and enter your Learning Lodge™ e-mail address and password to access the parental controls. Select a category from the menu at the top of the screen to manage the VTech® Selected or Parent Approved sites, change browser settings, and view browsing history. • Managing the VTech® Selected Sites On the VTech® Selected page, you’ll see all the sites that have been preapproved by VTech®.

Flick left or right to move between the bookshelves and see all the e-books you have downloaded. Connect to Learning LodgeTM to purchase and download more e-books. See the Installing Learning LodgeTM on a Computer section on page 8 for more details. You can also download the purchased e-books through Wi-Fi connection to Learning LodgeTM.
CO N TE N T Video Recorder Touch the Video Recorder icon to record video. The maximum recording length for each video is 5 minutes. Time Thumbnail Record button Time - This is the elapsed time of the video now recording. Record button - Touch this to start/stop recording. Thumbnail - Touch this to view the video you have just taken. WARNING: Video recording may take up memory quickly.
CO N TE N T Thumbnail - Touch this to view the photo you have just taken. Arrows - Touch these to see more decorations or effects. Auto Detection - Touch this to turn Auto Detection on or off in Fantasy Effect Mode. If this feature is on, the fantasy effects will automatically be placed in the area with the most light. If the feature is off, then the effects will be placed in a predetermined pattern near the edge of the picture. Face Detection - Touch this to turn Face Detection on or off in Sticker Mode.
CO N TE N T Play/Pause – Touch this to play or pause the video. Forward – Touch this to fast forward the video. Next – Touch this to go to the next video. Trash Can – Touch this to delete the current video. Video Recorder - Touch this to use your InnoTab® 3S Video Recorder. RING PHOTOS NSFER AND TRA VIDE OS Your beanstalk will respond to your actions just like a real plant would. If you water it every day and take good care of it, the beanstalk will grow tall. How high can this magic beanstalk grow? The answer is up to you! You can also use magic potions to make your plant grow beans. Each magic potion grows a different type of bean. Use different potions and try to collect all the beans.
RING PHOTOS NSFER AND TRA VIDE OS Friends Touch the Friends icon to add a new friend or view your friends’ info that you have saved. Flick up or down to look at more friends. To view or edit a friend’s information, touch that friend’s name. You can save info for a maximum of 20 friends. Calculator Touch the Calculator icon to do simple calculations. TIP: Try shaking the tablet to see what happens. Clock Touch the Clock to set the time or date, or use the stopwatch.
CAR E & MAI N TENANCE Register your InnoTab® 3S on Learning LodgeTM to obtain a registered license for the onboard content and software. To ensure that your tablet has been registered, go to the About menu in the Settings menu in your InnoTab® 3S. You will see the license type listed as "Trial" until your InnoTab® 3S is registered on Learning LodgeTM. TIP: You can reset the tablet to factory settings by typing R-E-S-E-T into the My Name profile in Settings.
CAR E & MAI N TENANCE Recommended Video bitrate: 600 Kbps. Other bitrates are supported but are not optimal for the device. Recommended Audio bitrate: 96 Kbps. Other bitrates are supported but are not optimal for the device. Maximum file size: 2GB (over 5 hours of play time using the recommended setup). Remove the cartridge, clean it if necessary, and then re-insert it into the InnoTab® 3S.
nical Support Tech Files copied to the tablet's internal memory disappeared. Cannot connect to Wi-Fi. The tablet's memory was not formatted to FAT32. The Wi-Fi is Off. Wi-Fi is On, but there is no Wi-Fi network available. The firmware of the InnoTab® 3S is not up-to-date or the tablet has not been registered on Learning LodgeTM. There is no Wi-Fi network in your location or network signal is weak. The selected network is not configured properly or authentication is required.
