Your wireless headset system contains sophisticated electronic parts and
should be treated with care.
• Do not immerse in water.
Avoid getting moisture or water on the headset system. Do not use the headset
outdoors in the rain, or handle with wet hands. Do not install near water, for
example, near a sink.
Unplug product from the wall outlet before cleaning.
Clean your headset with a slightly damp cloth as required. Dampen the cloth
with only water or a mild soap and apply only on plastic parts. Do not use liquid
cleaners or aerosol cleaners.
Avoid using this product during a thunderstorm. There may be a slight chance
of electric shock from lightning.
Keep all product cords and cables away from operating machinery.
The power adapter is intended to be used in a vertical or floor-mount position.
Do not plug into a ceiling or an under-the-table outlet.
Use only the power adapter provided with this product.
Never allow children to play with the headset or base station. Small parts may

rechargeable battery. When replacing, use the VXi replacement battery
This product contains a lithium-ion rechargeable battery. Care should be used
when handling batteries, especially when wearing conductive materials such
as rings, bracelets and keys. The battery or conductor may overheat and cause
harm.
Dispose of batteries in a safe manner. Do not burn or puncture which could
release caustic material and cause injury. Do not dispose of battery in a fire. The
cells may explode. Check with local codes for disposal instructions.
Do not open or mutilate battery. Released electrolyte is corrosive and may cause
damage to eyes or skin and may be toxic if swallowed.
Part 15
This device complies with Part 15 of the FCC Rules. Operation is subject to the
following two conditions:
1. This device may not cause harmful interference, and
2. This device must accept any interference received, including interference that
may cause undesired operation.
Note: This equipment has been tested and found to comply with the limits for
a Class B digital device, pursuant to Part 15 of the FCC Rules. These limits
are designed to provide reasonable protection against harmful interference
in a residential installation. This equipment generates, uses, and can radiate
radio frequency energy and, if not installed and used in accordance with the
instructions, may cause harmful interference to radio communications.
However, there is no guarantee that interference will not occur in a particular
installation. If this equipment does cause harmful interference to radio or
television reception which can be determined by turning the radio or television
off and on, the user is encouraged to try to correct interference by one or more
of the following measures:
1. Reorient or relocate the receiving antenna.
2. Increase the separation between the equipment and receiver.
3. Connect the equipment into an outlet on another circuit.
4. Consult the dealer or an experienced radio/TV technician for help.
Exposure to Radio Frequency Radiation
This device and its antenna must not be co-located or operated in conjunction with
any other antenna or transmitter. To comply with FCC RF exposure requirements,
only use the supplied antenna. The radiated output power of this internal wireless
radio is far below the FCC radio frequency exposure limits. Nevertheless, the
wireless radio shall be used as described in the guide. The internal wireless
radio operates within guidelines found in radio frequency safety standards and
recommendations, which reflect the consensus of the scientific community. VXi
therefore believes the internal wireless radio is safe for use by consumers. The
level of energy emitted is far less than the electromagnetic energy emitted by
wireless devices such as mobile phones. However, the use of wireless radios
may be restricted in some situations or environments, such as aboard airplanes.
If you are unsure of restrictions, you are encouraged to ask for authorization before
turning on the wireless radio.
Caution: To maintain the compliance with the FCC’s RF exposure guideline, place the
base unit at least 7.9 inches (20 cm) from nearby persons. For body worn operation,
this headset has been tested and meets the FCC RF exposure guidelines when used
with the VXi Corporation accessories supplied or designated for this product. Use
of other accessories may not ensure compliance with FCC RF exposure guidelines.
WARNING: Changes or modifications to this equipment not expressly approved by
the party responsible for compliance could void the user’s authority to operate the
equipment.
This Class B digital apparatus complies with Canadian requirement: CAN ICES-3 (B)/
NMB-3(B).
Part 68 and ACTA
This equipment complies with Part 68 of the FCC rules and the requirements
adopted by ACTA. On the exterior of this equipment is a label that contains a
product identifier in the format US: AAAEQ##TXXXX. If requested, this information
must be provided to your telephone company.
A plug and jack used to connect this equipment to the premises wiring and
telephone network must comply with the applicable FCC Part 68 rules and
requirements adopted by ACTA. A compliant telephone cord and modular plug
is provided with this product. It is designed to be connected to a compatible jack
that is also compliant. An RJ11 jack should normally be used for connecting to a
single line and an RJ14 jack for multiple lines. See set up instructions for details.
The Ringer Equivalence Number (REN) is used to determine the quantity of devices
you may connect to your telephone line. Excessive RENs on a telephone line may
result in the devices not ringing in response to an incoming call. In most, but
not all areas, the sum of the RENs should not exceed five (5.0). To be certain
of the number of devices you may connect to your line, as determined by the
REN, contact your local telephone company. For product approved after July 23,
2001, the REN for this product is part of the product identifier that has the format
US:AAAEQ##TXXXX. The digits represented by ### are the REN without the
decimal point. (For example, 03 represents a REN of 0.3.) For earlier producers,
the REN is separately shown on the label.
This equipment must not be used on party lines. Connection to party line service is
subject to state tariffs. Contact the state public utility commission, public service
commission or corporation commission for information. If your home has specially
wired alarm equipment connected to the telephone line, ensure the installation of
this product does not disable your alarm equipment. If you have questions about
what will disable alarm equipment, consult your telephone company or a qualified
installer.
If this telephone equipment causes harm to the telephone network, the telephone
company will notify you in advance that temporary discontinuance of service may
be required. But if advance notice isn’t practical, the telephone company will
notify the customer as soon as possible. Also, you will be advised of your right to
file a complaint with the FCC if you believe it is necessary. The telephone company
may make changes in its facilities, equipment, operations, or procedures that
could affect the proper functioning of your equipment. If they do, you will be
notified in advance in order for you to make necessary modifications to maintain
uninterrupted service.
If trouble is experienced with this unit, for repair or warranty information, please
contact customer service at 800-742-8588. If the equipment is causing harm
to the network, the telephone company may request that you disconnect the
equipment until the problem is resolved. DO NOT DISASSEMBLE THIS EQUIPMENT:
it does not contain any user serviceable components.
We recommend the installation of an AC surge arrester in the AC outlet to which
this equipment is connected. Telephone companies report that electrical surges,
typically lighting transients, are very destructive to customer terminal equipment
connected to AC power sources.
Part 68 and ACTA / Innovation, Science and Economic Development Canada
(formerly Industry Canada)
This device complies with Industry Canada licence-exempt RSS standard(s).
Operation is subject to the following two conditions:
1. This device may not cause harmful interference, and
2. This device must accept any interference received, including interference that
may cause undesired operation. Privacy of communications may not be ensured
when using this device.
Caution: This equipment complies with IC radiation exposure limits set forth in
RSS-102 of the IC radio frequency (RF) Exposure rules. This equipment should
be installed and operated keeping the radiator at least 20 cm or more away from
person’s body. The term “IC:” before the certification/registration number only
signifies that the Innovation, Science and Economic Development Canada (Industry
Canada) technical specifications were met. The REN for this terminal equipment
is 0.1. The Ringer Equivalence Number (REN) indicates the maximum number
of devices allowed to be connected to a telephone interface. The termination
of an interface may consist of any combination of devices subject only to the
requirements that the sum of the RENs of all the devices does not exceed five.
This product meets the applicable Innovation, Science and Economic Development
Canada technical specifications.
