Telephone operation
Analog corded 2-line - A2220
Mute
To mute the microphone:
During a call, press MUTE on the telephone base. The MUTE key illuminates when the mute function is turned on. You can hear
the party on the other end but they cannot hear you.
Press MUTE again to resume the conversation. The light on the MUTE key turns off.
Hold
When a call is placed on hold, any parallel phone that tries to use the same phone line will take the call off hold and pick the call.
To place a call on hold:
During a call, press HOLD on the telephone base to place that call on hold. The respective line key ashes when the call is
placed on hold.
Press the ashing line key or /SPEAKER to release the call from hold. The respective line key illuminates when in use. When
both lines are on hold, press /SPEAKER releases the call on line 1.
Conference call
This telephone allows three-way conversations.
To initiate a conference call:
Place a call to the rst party.
Press HOLD to place the rst party on hold.
Place a second call on the other line.
Once the second party is on the line, press CONF to start a three-way conference.
To initiate a conference call while both calls are on hold:
Press CONF to start a three-way conference.
To end a conference call:
Press a line key to maintain the connection with that line and drop the other line.
When the conference call is in speakerphone mode, press CONF or /SPEAKER on the telephone base to end.
When the conference call is in handset earpiece mode, place the corded handset back in the telephone base to end.
When there is more than one telephone on the conference call, the call ends when all telephones hang up.
Data port
You can connect your modem or fax machine to the telephone line through the DATA port. The data port routes to line 2.
