Press the 8 number buttons to learn about animals, animal sounds, numbers and hear musical notes.

BATTERY NOTICE • Use new alkaline batteries for maximum performance. • Use only batteries of the same or equivalent type as recommended. • Do not mix different types of batteries: alkaline, standard (carbonzinc) or rechargeable (Ni-Cd, Ni-MH), or new and used batteries. • Do not use damaged batteries. • Insert batteries with the correct polarity. • Remove exhausted batteries from the toy. • Remove batteries during long periods of non-use. • Do not dispose of batteries in fire.
2. VOLUME CONTROL SWITCH Slide the VOLUME CONTROL SWITCH to the LOW VOLUME ( ) or HIGH VOLUME ( ) position to adjust the volume. To preserve battery life, the VTech® Touch & Teach Elephant™ will automatically power-down after approximately 45 seconds without input. The unit can be turned on again by pressing any button. ACTIVITIES 1. Slide the mode selector switch to choose a mode of play. You will hear a cheerful song and an instructional phrase. The lights will flash along with the sounds.
4. Press the number/animal buttons to do the following: learn numbers and counting 1 through 8 in Letter Mode; learn animal names and sound effects in Story Mode; and play piano notes in Music Mode. While a melody is playing, press the number buttons again to play the melody one note at a time. In all modes, the lights will flash with the sounds. 5. Press the question button to hear random questions about numbers, letters, shapes, animals or objects, depending on the selected mode and page.

1. Keep the unit clean by wiping it with a slightly damp cloth. 2. Keep the unit out of direct sunlight and away from any direct heat source. 3. Remove the batteries when the unit will not be in use for an extended period of time. 4. Do not drop the unit on hard surfaces and do not expose the unit to moisture or water.
