Getting Started Setup Connecting Power to Handset Charger Because the mi 6820 is an accessory handset to the mi 6821, mi 6822, mi 6861 mi 6862 or mi 6872 all you need to do is choose the location for your handset charger and plug in the power supply into an electrical outlet. CAUTION: Use only the VTech power supply provided with your telephone. Installation of Battery 1. Remove battery compartment cover by pressing on the indentation and sliding downward. 2.
Charging of the Handset Battery The handset of your cordless telephone is powered by a rechargeable battery. It charges automatically whenever the handset is in its charger. You should charge the battery for 10-12 hours when you first receive your phone. Getting Started Registration Your mi 6820 is an accessory handsets for use with the mi 6821, mi 6822, mi 6861, mi 6862 or mi 6872 base units. To register your mi 6820 for the first time: 1. After charging the battery, the screen will display: 2. Press SEL, you will see ENTER BASE ID, if the screen already says ENTER BASE ID, go to step 3. 3. Re-Registering a New Handsets to an Existing Base De-register all system handsets by: 1. Unplug the base power plug. 2. Press and hold the PAGE key. 3. Plug the base unit power plug back in and con tinue to hold down the PAGE key for 10 seconds. 4. This will erase all handsets registered to the base. The handsets will now prompt you to: 5.
