8.3.4 Programming the Unit's Configuration
The unit configuration data stored in the SERIAL, MODE, RADIO and AUTODIAL entries are normally
ignored when the database file is uploaded to the OSMAC BaseOSMAC Base as a security feature in order to prevent
unauthorized users from changing the unit's configuration.
If it is desired to change the OSMAC BaseOSMAC Base's configuration with data downloaded previously from a OSMAC BaseOSMAC Base
unit, use a text editor to add the following line to the database file immediately after the "DB1" entry:
PASSWORD,xxxxxx,[0D]
Where xxxxxx is the same password required to access the Configuration Mode from the OSMAC BaseOSMAC Base's front
panel.
Note that the unit's Firmware Version and CW ID String are not changed when uploading the database file.
These entries in the database file are ignored during the upload process.
8.3.5 Keyboard Emulation
Key presses from an external keyboard may be simulated from the computer ports for use in automated test
stations or other special applications. As a security feature, the PASSWORD command must have been sent
prior to using this feature.
To simulate key presses from an external keyboard, use a text editor to add the following line to the database
file after the PASSWORD line:
KEY,nnn,[0D] or KEY,nnn,nnn,nnn, [0D]
Where nnn represents the desired keycode represented in decimal ASCII representation. Several keycodes may
be placed on a line if desired as indicated above. Note that the following special numbers are defined:
Decimal ASCII Code Function
1 F1 Key
2 F2 Key
3 F3 Key
4 F4 Key
5 Dash Key
6 Delete Key
7 Down Key
8 Up Key
31 Enter Configuration Mode
