PS3 1500 / PS3 2200 3.6 Installation Checks to Make Before Installation With the megohmmeter, measure the insulation resistance between each of the power wires and grounding wire to verify the insulation resistance of the motor. Reference insulation resistance: 20MW or greater Note: The reference insulation resistance (20MW or greater) is the value when the pump is new or has been repaired. For the reference value after installation, see Maintenance and Inspection.
Installation 3.7 PS3 1500 / PS3 2200 Changing the Operating Voltage The operating voltage of the motor can be changed from 110V to 220V depending on the available power source. WARNING Electric shock hazard. f Ensure that the pump is disconnected from the power source before changing the operating voltage. Requirements • Pump disconnected from the power source • Hand tools (screwdriver and wrench) Procedure Follow the procedure below to change the operating voltage of the motor. p wc_gr008856 3.7.
PS3 1500 / PS3 2200 3.7.4 Installation Remove the plastic cover (not shown) from the front face of the terminal box. Using a screwdriver, detach and move the lead wires as needed to configure the operating voltage. Installation 3.8 PS3 1500 / PS3 2200 Precautions in Installation 3.8.1 The pump is supplied with a threaded discharge fitting. Tighten hose coupling or discharge pipe securely and with proper gaskets. 3.8.2 Install the pump in a location with sufficient water level, where water collects readily. Note: See Operation (“Operating Water Level”) for the water level necessary for operation. The discharge end of the hose should be located higher than the water surface.
PS3 1500 / PS3 2200 3.9 Electrical Wiring WARNING 3.10 Installation Performing electrical wiring Electrical wiring should be performed by a qualified person in accord with all applicable regulations. Failure to observe this precaution not only risks breaking the law but is extremely dangerous. Incorrect wiring can lead to current leakage, electrical shock or fire.
Installation 3.11 PS3 1500 / PS3 2200 Cable Assembly CAUTION If it is necessary to extend the cable assembly, use a core size equal to or larger than the original. This is necessary not only to avoid a performance drop, but to prevent cable overheating which can result in fire, electrical leakage or electrical shock. If a cable with cut insulation or other damage is submerged in the water, there is a danger of damage to the pump, electrical leakage, electrical shock, or fire.
PS3 1500 / PS3 2200 4 4.1 Operation Operation Before Starting 4.1.1 Make sure once again that the product is of the correct voltage and frequency rating. NOTICE: Using the product at other than rated voltage and frequency will not only lower its performance but may damage the product. Note: Confirm the rated voltage and frequency on the model nameplate. 4.1.2 Confirm the wiring, supply voltage, circuit breaker capacity, and motor insulation resistance.
Operation CAUTION WARNING PS3 1500 / PS3 2200 COUNTERMEASURE: If the supply voltage is outside the tolerance, possible causes are the power supply capacity or an inadequate extension cable. Look again at the wiring diagram and make sure the conditions are proper. In case of very excessive vibration, unusual noise or odor, turn off the power immediately and consult your nearest dealer or Wacker Neuson representative.
PS3 1500 / PS3 2200 4.2 Operation Operating Water Level CAUTION Do not operate the pump below the C.W.L. (Continuous running Water Level) indicated below. Failure to observe this condition may result in damage to the pump, current leakage or electrical shock. CWL wc_gr000324 Operating Water Level 4.3 Pump Model C.W.L. Operation 4.4 PS3 1500 / PS3 2200 Emergency Shutdown Procedure If a breakdown/accident occurs while the machine is operating, follow the procedure below. 4.4.1 Turn off the pump. 4.4.2 Disconnect the power supply. 4.4.3 Contact the rental yard or machine owner. 26 wc_tx001989gb.
PS3 1500 / PS3 2200 5 Maintenance Maintenance 5.1 Periodic Maintenance Schedule The table below lists basic machine maintenance. Tasks designated with check marks may be performed by the operator. Tasks designated with square bullet points require special training and equipment. Pump Weekly Measure insulation resistance. Reference insulation resistance = 1MΩ or greater. (1) Measure operating current. Compare with rated current. Measure supply voltage.
Maintenance 5.2 PS3 1500 / PS3 2200 Maintenance and Inspection WARNING 5.2.1 Regular maintenance and inspections are a necessity for continued efficient functioning of the pump. If any abnormal conditions are noticed, refer to the Troubleshooting section and take corrective measures immediately. It is recommended that a spare pump be kept ready in case of any problems. Prior to inspecting Before inspecting the pump, make certain the power supply (circuit breaker, etc.) is turned off.
PS3 1500 / PS3 2200 Maintenance Note: Worn lubricant and other waste products should be disposed of by a qualified agent, in accord with applicable laws. The oil plug gasket should be replaced each time the lubricant is inspected or changed. 1 2 3 4 wc_gr000325 Pump Model Lubricant Capacity PS3 1500/2200 270 ml (9.1 fl. oz.) Ref. Description Ref.
