Engine & Steering Controls
R-06 Reservoir
The R-06 Reservoir is the fill location
and fluid reserve for the system. The R-
06 filters the fluid entering the system.
Standard features include a fluid level
indicator and pressure guage. Options
are integral hand pump and pressure
relief valve. Two quart capacity.
Standard Inboard Systems
Hynautic has
packaged three
systems to meet
most large boat
steering needs to
70 feet. Other
cylinders and
helms may be
substituted to
gain more force
or less turns.
MS 1150 System
This system for most boats to
40 feet combines the K-1 cylin-
der with a 20 series Helm Unit,
giving 4.4 turns hardover-to-
hardover. The system includes
a Helm Unit, Cylinder, Relief
Valve, Reservoir and fittings
for 3/8" copper lines or the
equivalent in SAE-100R hy-
draulic hose.
MS 1175 System
For most pleasure boats to 50 ft. and
work boats to 40 ft., this system
combines the K-2 Cylinder with a
40 series Helm Unit. The result is
4.4 turns hardover-to-hardover. The
basic system includes a Helm Unit,
Cylinder, Relief Valve, Reservoir
and fittings for 1/2" copper lines or
SAE-100R hydraulic hose equiva-
lent.
MS 1200 System
For most pleasure boats to 60 feet
and work boats to 50 feet, this
system uses the K-3 Cylinder and
40 Series Helm Unit. One con-
figuration results in 5.8 turns, the
other 4.2 turns. The basic system
includes a Helm Unit, Cylinder,
Relief Valve, Reservoir and fit-
tings for 1/2" copper lines or SAE-
100R hydraulic hose equivalent.
System Turns Cylinder Helm Relief Valve Torque @ 35°
MS 1150 4.4 K-1 H-21/25 950psi 9,650 in./lbs.
MS 1175 4.4 K-2 H-42 950 psi 14,300 in./lbs.
MS 1200 5.8 K-3 H-42 950 psi 18,500 in./lbs.
MS 1200 4.2 K-3 H-41 950 psi 18,500 in./lbs.
Standard systems utilize single cylinders. Dual cylinders sys-
tems are available. Output torque will double.

System Components
H-20/40 Series Helm
The T-6061 aluminum body houses
a non-metallic axial piston pump
and internal valving. Stainless steel
