For several years, the gas utility and
distribution market has used plastic gas pipe
for its ease-of-use, corrosion resistance,
and cost effectiveness. NFPA 54 provides
for the use of plastic piping within it’s code for
outdoor, underground use only at a
minimum burial depth of 18” , using
yellow 14g tracer wire for location purposes.
