DESCRIPTION AND USES
Watco
®
Teak Oil + Stain is specifically formulated for dense
woods such as teak, mahogany and rosewood. Watco Teak
Oil + Stain penetrates deep into wood pores to create the rich,
warm glow of a hand-rubbed finish. Watco Teak Oil + Stain
protects wood from within. It will not chip, peel or wear away.
Use to treat outdoor or indoor furniture and on marine surfaces
such as wood boat decks, cabinets and rails. It is not
recommended for patio decks, below waterline wood surfaces
or interior floors. Teak Oil + Stain is easy to use. Simply brush
or wipe on and wipe off.

PRODUCT APPLICATION
SURFACE PREPARATION
Ensure the wood is dry and free from subsurface moisture
and that all surface coatings such as paint or varnish are
completely removed. Sand if a smooth finish is desired.
WARNING: If you scrape, sand, or remove old paint, you may
release lead dust. LEAD IS TOXIC. EXPOSURE TO LEAD
DUST CAN CAUSE SERIOUS ILLNESS, SUCH AS BRAIN
DAMAGE, ESPECIALLY IN CHILDREN. PREGNANT
WOMEN SHOULD ALSO AVOID EXPOSURE. Wear a
NIOSH-approved respirator to control lead exposure. Clean up
carefully with a HEPA vacuum and a wet mop. Before you
start, find out how to protect yourself and your family by
contacting the National Lead Information Hotline at 1-800-424-
LEAD or log on to www.eps.gov/lead.

DO NOT APPLY IN WET WEATHER OR WHEN AIR AND
SURFACE TEMPERATURES ARE BELOW 50°F OR
ABOVE 95°F. Watco Teak Oil Finish may appear milky in the
can but will dry to a clear film.
SHAKE CONTAINER THOROUGHLY and test for color on a
hidden section of wood. Flood the surface with a heavy
application of Watco Teak Oil + Stain with a brush, cloth,
roller or spray, applying additional finish to areas that absorb
all the liquid. Allow the oil to penetrate for 30 minutes. (Avoid
spilling on fiberglass portions of a boat. Wipe immediately
and remove using a rubbing compound). Re-apply allowing
an additional 15 minutes penetration. Wipe the surface
completely dry. The surface is ready for use in 8-10 hours.
If a topcoat such as a polyurethane is desired, allow Watco
Teak Oil + Stain to dry 72 hours before application of the
polyurethane.
MAINTENANCE
Periodically re-apply Watco Teak Oil + Stain Finish to wood
that appears dry to enhance to beauty and look of the finish.
CLEAN UP
Clean application tools and equipment with mineral spirits or
paint thinner.
