• Desktop PC (i.e., a desktop PC or laptop) with an Ethernet connection running
one of the following Windows platforms: 98, ME, NT (Service Pack 4.0), 2000
or XP
• CD-ROM Drive or internet access to www.wavewireless.com
• Monitor
Installation Instructions
Note: You will need to make sure that you have enabled the TCP/IP protocol for your
Ethernet device before using this program.
If you install SPEEDSignal from the SPEEDLAN 9000 Series CD, follow these
directions:
1 Insert the SPEEDLAN 9000 Series CD into your CD-ROM drive.
2 Locate the zip file on the CD ROM drive (i.e., Drive D:). It will be in the
following directory on the CD: \SPEEDLAN 9000_Files\9000
Management Software\SPEEDView_& IP Recovery & SPEEDSignal Install_Files
directory. Then, follow steps 1 through 6 below:
If you are installing an executable from a zip file (from our website):
Note: SPEEDSignal can also be downloaded as part of the SPEEDLAN 9000 series
tools in SPEEDView, which is located under the Support directory of the Wave Wireless
web site. Locate the link and save the zip file to your desktop.
1 Locate the ".zip" file and double-click it. The WinZip
®
dialog box will appear
on your desktop PC allowing you to extract the SPEEDView install files. Select
the files and click the Extract button. Next, extract the files to a location on
your computer.
2 Click Start on the Windows taskbar. The Start menu appears.
3 Choose Run from the Start menu. The Run dialog box appears.
4 Locate the executable called setup.exe in the directory where you extracted
the files.
5 Follow the installation prompts.
6 SPEEDSignal will now be located in the Wave Wireless Program Group, unless
you installed it in another group.
