Appendix F (SPEEDSignal)-12
Channel - This is the specific band of frequencies (from 1 to 11) to
determine the data path between routers. The following channels are
available:
1 2.412
2 2.417
3 2.422
4 2.427
5 2.432
6 2.437
7 2.442
8 2.447
9 2.452
10 2.457
11 2.462
Rows Per Screen - You can select a value between 5 and 10. For example,
choosing 5 will magnify the rows (and display less rows) and choosing 10 will
do exactly the opposite (display more rows). (This feature does not appear for
the Pocket PC PDA version, only for the desktop PC version.)
Note about changing the channel:
If you are using a wired network to connect to the remote SPEEDLAN 9000
unit: If you change the channel of the node you are connected to with
SPEEDSignal, the node will lose its connection to the network. For this reason,
you should only use SPEEDSignal while directly connected to a SPEEDLAN
9000 series router. If you are routed across the wireless network when you
change the channel of the router, you will lose your connection. You can do
this by establishing a direct connection to the remote node by:
changing the channel in the (Channel drop-down list), or
power cycle the remote node (shut down node and turn it back on again).
For wireless connections: If you change the channel of the 9000, you must
change the Pocket PC PDA to the corresponding channel to resume wireless
communications.
