Troubleshooting
Read this section to troubleshoot any problems when using SPEEDSignal for Pocket PC
PDA.
Unit is not displayed in Scan dialog box of Pocket PC PDA - If the unit you want
to monitor is not listed among the scanned results, try tapping Rescan again,
or move closer to the radio if needed (see next bullet).
Radio is out of range - Depending on the antennas involved, you may need to
minimize your distance from the 9000 router that is being monitored. When
using directional antennas, make sure there is line of sight between the units to
establish communication.
SPEEDSignal is disabled on the Pocket PC PDA - As shipped, SPEEDSignal
can communicate with a wired (via desktop PC) or wireless interface
(via Pocket PC PDA). Your network administrator may have disabled
SPEEDSignal for the Pocket PC PDA for security reasons.
How do I modify the radio card settings (Mode and Channel)? Make sure your
802.11b Wireless LAN PC Card is inserted. You will see a green radio control
icon on the lower right hand corner of your screen. Tap this and you will be
able to modify your Mode and Channel settings.
If you want to enable SPEEDSignal for the Pocket PC PDA, ask your network
administrator to re-enable it through the SPEEDLAN 9000 Configurator. This will re-
establish communication between the 9000 wireless router and embedded unit.
