MAINTENANCE SCHEDULE (continued)
MONTHLY:
1. Inspect the convection fan blade for solids or creosote buildup or an out-of-balance condition. Clean as
needed. WARNING: Solids buildup will cause the fan blade to be out of balance and, if not cleaned,
can cause damage to the fan blade and to the convection fan motor. An extra fan blade is shipped
with the smoker and is located inside the service compartment.
WARNING: Oven MUST be off and power disconnected before opening service door.
Models: MLR-150, SPX-300, SPK-500, MLR-850 and SPK-1000
Models: SP-700 and SPK-1400. After removing convection fan cover on the back of the smoker:
2. Inspect the proximity switch on the top part of the product door frame. Make sure the area is clean and
free of debris.
3. Check the thermostat thermocouple. Be sure there is no solids or creosote buildup. Clean as needed.
Remove the left 2
bolts with a 5/16”
socket and open the
convection fan ac-
cess door.
Loosen the set screw
and remove the fan
blade for cleaning.
Set Screw Sizes:
MLR-150 - 5/32”
SPX-300 - 5/32”
SPK-500 - 5/32”
MLR-850 - 5/16”
SPK-1000 - 5/16”
Thermostat thermocouple on
the left side of the interior of
the smoker.
Rotisserie wheel stub.
Remove the top 2 and
bottom 2 bolts with a
1/2” socket and open
the convection fan
access door.
Loosen the set screw
and remove the fan
blade for cleaning.
Set Screw Sizes:
SP-700 - 5/16”
SPK-1400 - 5/16”
