STARTING A FLOODED ENGINE Flooded en_ginescan be started by placing the ON/OFFswitch in the ON position and the choke lever in the OFF CHOKE position and engaging the throttle lock as directed in the STARTING A COLD ENGINE section; then, pull the rope to clear the engine of excess fuel. Starting could require pulling the starter rope many times depending on how badly the unit is flooded. If the unit still doesn't start, refer to the TROUBLESHOOTING TABLE or call 1-800-554-6723.

ENGINE • Remove spark plug and pour 1 teaspoon of 40:1,2-cycle engine oil (air cooled) through the spark plug opening. Slowly pull the starter rope 8 to 10 times to distdbute oil. • Replace spark plug with new one of recommended type and heat range (see RE* PLACE SPARK PLUG section). • Clean air filter. • Check entire unit for loose screws, nuts, and bolts. Replace any damaged, broken, or worn parts. • At the beginning of the next season, use only fresh fuel having the proper gasoline to oil ratio.
