Voltage test (Pict. F and G)

onthetestprobes(2).
• IfDCvoltageisdetected,theLEDsofthe6V
stepcorrespondingtothepolarityisshown.
• IfACvoltageisdetected,the+6Vand-6V
LEDlightsimultaneously.
• Atthestartofeveryvoltagetest,thewhole
LEDchainlightsupbriey.
• Thelevelofthevoltagedetectedisshownby
theLEDsuptothestepvaluelightinguptothe
detectedvoltage.

Discharging capacitors
Byoperatingbothbuttons(11)aninternalload
resistorisswitchedon.Thismeansthatitissafe
todischargecapacitorsoverthisresistance,the
dropinthevoltagecanalsobesimultaneously
seenintheLEDchain.
Attenuation of induced voltages
InACnetworks,capacitivecouplingofneighbour-
ingcablescanresultininducedvoltagesinthe
cables,thiswouldbeindicatedonthevoltage
testerasanexistingvoltage.Bysimultaneously
operatingbothbuttons(11),aninducedvoltageis
attenuatedsothatyoucansafelydifferentiatebe-
tweenaninducedvoltageandonecausedbythe
voltageinthenetwork.
Residual current circuit breaker
Whenmeasuringthevoltagebetweentheline
conductor(phase)andthePEconductor,press-
ingbothbuttons(11)cancausetheRCCBtotrip.
Phase-sequence testing (Pict. I and J) (only
types 1155/56)
NOTE
Inunfavourablelocations,suchason
awoodenladderoranon-conductive
oorandinnotcorrectlygroundedAC
networks,thephase-sequencetest
cannotbecarriedout.
Thephase-sequenceisdonebyplacingthe
thumbonthecontactelectrode(9)duringvoltage
testingbetweentwolineconductorsofthethree-
phaseACsupply.
Inthephase-sequencetest,thedisplayhandle
(+)canbeinterpretedasL2andthesmalltest
probe(-)asL1.
Whenre-testingwiththetestprobesswapped
over,thedisplayedphasedirectionmustchange.
