Handling
Crimping tool
1. Place the contact in the appropriate wire cross-section groove
of the dies.
Close the crimp tool until the contact is firmly held in position
between the crimp dies.
Insert the wire into the contact.
2. Squeeze the handles together until the ratchet disengages.
Remove the crimped wire and contact.
Additional notes
3. How to release the control cycle ratchet in the event of an
operating error.
Squeeze the handles lightly.
Using a screwdriver, force the retaining pawl upwards and
release the handles.
Field of application
The tool is designed for use in applications described in the
operating instructions only. Using this tool for tasks other than
those described may lead to accidents or the destruction of the
tool.
Maintenance
Subject to the frequency of use and type of service, the tool
must be checked regularly to ensure flawless functioning. In the
event that appropriate tests are not possible on site, these can
be conducted by the manufacturer.
Repairs
The tool must only be repaired by an electro-mechanical
specialist or by the manufacturer, otherwise operator accidents
may result.
Protect yourself against live parts
Do not work on live parts.
Cover and guard live parts near your workplace.
Field of application
Use the tool only for the applications described in the operating
instructions. Do not use the tool and accessories for any work
requiring heavier-duty tools. Do not use tools for purposes or
work for which they are not intended. Using the tool for any other
purpose may cause accidents resulting in severe personal injury
or irreparable damage to the tool or items of value.
Warning!
In conjunction with some plugs and conductors
available on the market the results attained with this
tool do not conform to standards. This is due to the
tolerances permitted in the various standards and may occur
even though the conductor, plug and crimp articles used meet
the standards concerned.
For this reason the tool may only be used after its performance
has been tested in conjunction with the articles and conductors
being processed and any necessary adjustments to the tool have
been made. If this tool is not tested as required, it cannot be
ruled out that faulty contacts, increased line resistance or
inadequate tensile strength may result and adversely affect the
safety of the overall device. This may cause severe personal
injury or damage to items of value.
If you are unable to conduct appropriate tests, please contact
your supplier and arrange for adjustment and testing to be
performed.
General information
For your own safety, only use the accessories and attachments
recommended in the operating instructions or by the
manufacturer.
Please always carry out all the required precautionary measures
and observe all applicable accident prevention regulations.
