Screw a metallic cable conduit down to the rails of the
frame or cabinet walls roughly every 50 cm. Ensure
that there is a good conductive and at connection
between the rail and cable conduit. With coated
cabinets, this can be done using lock washers for
example. Another option is to remove the coating
or paintwork. However, all metal parts must be
sufciently protected from corrosion.
Connect the shields of all cables routed into the
cabinet with the potential equalisation at the cabinet
entrance. To do this, connect large areas of the shields
with the operating earth, ensuring good conductivity.
Special assembly material is available from various
manufacturers for this purpose. Mechanically brace
the cables above the earthing clip to prevent damage
caused by the cable moving.
