Introduction
Weidmüller offers a variety of add-on components for a
multitude of purposes and applications in addition to its
extensive Klippon
®
Protect range.
In addition to brass, plastic and stainless steel cable glands,
there are also sealing plugs, pressure-equalising elements,
adapters and relevant accessories – such as lock nuts, at
gaskets, at washers and earthing rings – available.
To match the assembled enclosures, the cable glands meet
the requirements of IP protection classes IP54 to IP69K and
can be used as required in standard industrial applications,
EMC applications or even explosive risk zones, plus they
comply with the approvals required for this purpose.
The Ex-certied Klippon® cable glands also allow for
the connection of cables and conductors with different
reinforcements with and without lead sheathing, as well as
the connection of steel wire and steel tape cables. They can
withstand temperatures ranging from -60°C to +180°C.
Depending on the cable gland variants and application, the
cable glands, sealing plugs, adaptors, pressure-equalising
elements, and accessories are manufactured and certied
according to the following standards:
• IEC/EN 62444 (Construction and design)
• IEC/EN 60529 (IP protection class testing)
• IEC/EN 60079-0 (General Ex requirements)
• IEC/EN 60079-1 (Ex d Ex standard)
• IEC/EN 60079-7 (Ex e Ex standard)
• IEC/EN 60079-11 (Ex i Ex standard)
• IEC/EN 60423 (Metric thread)
• DIN 40430 (PG and NPT threads)
The range of cable glands, sealing plugs and pressure-
equalising elements is available in metric (M) and high-
strength (PG) threads in sizes ranging from M12 to M75
and PG7 to PG48. When choosing cable glands and
sealing plugs, please refer to the table with the sealing
characteristics of the O-rings, at gaskets and seal inserts.
The O-Ring or at gasket is always intended for sealing
the connecting thread on an enclosure, for example, while
the seal insert of each cable gland is intended for actually
sealing and crushing the connecting cable.
