ANNUAL START-UP (See First-year special inspection)

Reported problems.
Inspect interior; clean and vacuum if
necessary; WARNING — no solvents.
Clean condensate trap and ll with fresh water.
Check for leaks (water, gas, ue, condensate).
Check system water chemistry, inhibitor level
and antifreeze concentration.
Verify ue and air lines in good condition and
sealed tight.
Check system water pressure/system piping/
expansion tank.
Check control settings.
Ignition electrode (clean with steel wool and
reposition) — replace if worn.
Ignition and ground wiring.
Wiring and connections.
Perform start-up checkout and performance
verication beginning with “Startup — ll the
system” on page 35.
Flame inspection (stable, uniform).
Flame signal (see Figure 119, page 112).
Clean Nanogate coated heat exchanger if ue
temp is more than 54°F above return water
temp.
Inspect jacket front door gaskets; replace if
necessary.



Remove and clean burner using compressed
air only.
Vacuum the blower.

Review with owner.
Daily
Check boiler area.
Check air openings.
Check pressure/temperature gauge.
Verify boiler front door is securely in
place.
Monthly
Check vent piping.
Check air piping.
Check relief valve.
Check condensate drain system.
Check automatic air vents (if used).
Periodically
Test low water cuto󰀨 (if used).
Every
6 months
Check boiler piping (gas and water)
Operate relief valve.
End
of season
Shut boiler down (unless boiler used
for domestic water).

follow the directions in this manual and component literature could result in severe personal injury, death or substantial
property damage.
