SCANTEAM 2010 User’s Guide
Word Length Data Bits
This programming selection allows you to set the at seven or eight
bits of data per character. If an application requires only ASCII Hex characters
0 through 7F decimal (text, digits, and punctuation), select 7 data bits. For
applications requiring use of the full ASCII set, select 8 data bits per character.
Default = seven data bits.
Parity
This programming selection provides a means of checking character bit
patterns for validity. The decoder can be configured to operate under Even,
Odd, MarkĂ/ĂNone, or Space parity options. The host terminal must be set up
for the same parity as the decoder, to ensure reliable communication.
Default = Even parity.
Word Length Stop Bits
This programming selection allows you to set the at one or two
stop bits. Default = one stop bit.
The combination of 7 Data Bits, No Parity, and 1 Stop Bit is not supported
by RSĆ232D Port 2.
