MAINTENANCE
SANDING BELT REPLACEMENT
To replace the sanding belt:
1. Make sure the switch is in the OFF position and the cord
is disconnected from the power source.
2. Remove the upper guard (Fig. B - 6) and the side cover by
removing the locking knob (Fig. B - 3) and the three screws
(Fig. B - 4).
3. The middle roller (Fig. E - 1) is mounted on a spring, al-
lowing it to move back and forth if put under enough pres-
sure. This roller is also directly attached to the belt tension
adjustment knob and the adjusting shaft guard.
4. The entire adjusting shaft guard can be shifted forward.
Apply enough pressure to the shaft guard (the small housing
that holds the tension adjustment knob) to push it towards
the work table and belt platen (Fig. E - 2). This will provide
enough slack to slide off the belt.

5. Slide the belt off of the rollers with the other hand and replace it with a new one. Check that the arrow on the
back of the new belt is pointed in the direction of travel.
6. Adjust tracking accordingly and reinstall the cover and the table.
SANDING DISC REPLACEMENT
To replace the sanding disc:
1. Turn off the power and unplug the machine from its power source.
2. Remove the sanding disc table and the dust chute by unscrewing the knobs and screws securing them in place.
3. Remove the used sanding disc. A WEN 2020 Heat Gun can help to soften up the adhesive to make for an
easier, cleaner removal.
4. Wipe the sanding disc plate clean.
5. Peel the backing from the new sanding disc, align the disc with the plate and press the sanding disc firmly on to
the plate.
5. Reinstall the work table and the dust chute.
NOTE: All ball bearings are sealed and permanently lubricated. Do not add any external lubrication. Always
check the sander for worn/damaged wires, loose mounting hardware, damaged abrasive discs and belts or for any
other unsafe conditions before operation.
