1. Tools/equipmentwiththreewiregroundingplugs(Fig.1,A)areintendedforuseonacircuitthathas
anoutletthatlooksliketheoneillustrated(Fig.1,B).
2. Atemporaryadapter(Fig.1,D)maybeusedtoconnectthisplugtoa2-polereceptacle
(Fig.1,C)ifaproperlygroundedoutletisnotavailable.
3. Thetemporaryadaptershouldbeusedonlyuntilaproperlygroundedoutletcanbeinstalledbya
qualiedelectrician.
4. Thegreencoloredrigidear,lug,etc.extendingfromtheadaptermustbeconnectedtoapermanent
groundsuchasaproperlygroundedoutletbox(Fig.1,C).
Extension Cord Guidelines
Makesureyourextensioncordisingoodcondition.Whenusinganextensioncord,besuretouseone
heavyenoughtocarrythecurrentyourproductwilldraw.Anundersizedcordwillcauseadropinline
voltageresultinginlossofpowerandoverheating.Thetablebelowshowsthecorrectsizetobeused
accordingtocordlengthandnameplateampererating.Ifindoubt,usethenextheaviergauge.The
smallerthegaugenumber,theheavierthecord.
