Miter Angle Adjustment
1. Amitercutisonethatisatanangleacrossthehorizontalsurfaceofthematerial.Youwill
commonlymake45ºmitercutstojointwopiecesinarightanglecorner.A30ºcutisoften
usedforascarfjointortomakeachamferedend.
2. Tomakeamitercut,loosentheMiterLockHandlebyturningitapproximately1/4turncounterclock-
wise.MovetheTabletothedesiredangle.TheMiterAngleIndicatorwillindicatetheselectedangle.
TheTablewilllockintoplaceatoftenusedmiterangles,including0º,5º,10º,15º,20º,25º,30º,35º,
40ºand45ºbothleftandrightsides.
3. TightentheLockHandletothelocktheTable.
4. WiththeTableadjustedtothedesiredangle,placetheworkpieceushagainsttheGuideFence,
secureitwiththeHoldDownClampandmakethecut.
Bevel Angle Adjustment
1. Abevelcutisonethatisatanangletotheverticalplaneofthematerial.
2. Bevelcutscanbeusedtomiterrelativelywideandthinmaterial.Bevelcutscanbeusedin
combinationwithamitercuttoformacompoundangle.Compoundanglecutsareoftenusedin
crownmoldings,pictureframesandsimilartrimmaterials.
3. Tosetthebevelangle,loosentheBevelLockHandleattherearofthesaw.Todothis,pressinthe
LockButtonandrotatetheHandle1/2turncounterclockwise.MovetheBladeAssemblylefttothe
desiredangle.YoucanreadtheangleontheBevelAngleIndicator.LocktheBladeAssemblyinto
positionbypressingintheLockButtonandrotatingtheBevelLockHandleclockwise.Tightenrmly
butnotover-tight.
4. Makeasamplecutinapieceofscrapandchecktobesurethebevelangleiscorrect.Ifitisnot,
correcttheanglebeforecuttingyourworkpiece.
Depth Stop Use
1. IfyouwanttomakeaKerngorrabbetcutwhichdoesnotcutthroughtheworkpiece,youcanuse
theDepthStopScrewtocontrolthedepthofthecut.
2. TolimitBladeAssemblytravel,turntheDepthStopScrewclockwise.Thefurtheryouscrewdown
theDepthStopScrew,theshallowerthecutwillbe.
3. Afterthedesiredcuthasbeenmade,returntheDepthStopScrewtoitsopenpositionbyturningit
counterclockwise.
