BEFORE YOU BEGIN Thank you for selecting the new WESLO® FLEX 3.0 rower. Rowing is an effective exercise for increasing cardiovascular fitness, building endurance, and toning the body. The FLEX 3.0 rower is designed to let you enjoy this effective exercise in the convenience and privacy of your home. this manual, please see the front cover of this manual. PART IDENTIFICATION CHART Use the drawings below to identify the small parts needed for assembly. The number in parentheses below each drawing is the key number of the part. The number following the key number is the quantity needed for assembly. Note: If a part is not in the hardware kit, check to see if it has been preassembled. Extra parts may be included.
ASSEMBLY • To hire an authorized service technician to assemble this product, call 1-800-445-2480. • To identify small parts, see page 6. • Assembly requires only the included tools. • Assembly requires two persons. Assembly may be easier if you have a set of wrenches. To avoid damaging parts, do not use power tools. • Place all parts in a cleared area and remove the packing materials. 3. See the upper drawing. Orient the Rail (4) and the Seat (5) with the Seat Knob (23) on the side shown. 3 4 5 See the middle drawing. Slide the Seat (5) onto the Rail (4). Then, attach the Bumper (6) to the Rail with an M6 x 16mm Screw (7). 23 See the lower drawing. Tighten the Seat Knob (23) into one of the adjustment holes in the Rail (4). 4 5 6 7 4 23 4.
5. While a second person holds the Rail (4) near the Frame (2), connect the Rail Wire (10) to the Frame Wire (11). Insert the excess wire into the Rail. 5 12 Avoid pinching the wires Tip: Avoid pinching the wires. Attach the Rail (4) to the Frame (2) with an M8 Bolt Set (12). Then, insert the Frame Pin (13) through the indicated holes. 2 12 4 13 11 10 6. Insert the Axle (14) through the Frame (2) and center it. Next, slide a Bushing (15) and a Pedal (16) onto each side of the Axle.
8. The Console (21) can use two AA batteries (not included); alkaline batteries are recommended. Do not use old and new batteries together or alkaline, standard, and rechargeable batteries together. IMPORTANT: If the Console has been exposed to cold temperatures, allow it to warm to room temperature before you insert batteries. Otherwise, you may damage the Console or other electronic components.
HOW TO USE THE ROWER HOW TO ADJUST THE RESISTANCE 2. The second phase is the DRIVE. Push backward with your legs. Lean back slightly at the hips (not at the waist), keeping your back straight. As you straighten your legs, pull the row bar toward your chest. Keep your elbows outward. To vary the intensity of your exercise, you can adjust the resistance that you feel when you pull the row bar or the handles. 3. The third phase is the FINISH. Your legs should be nearly straight.
HOW TO MOVE THE ROWER HOW TO FOLD AND STORE THE ROWER Stand behind the rower and lift the leg until the rower will roll on the wheels. Then, carefully move the rower to the desired location, and lower it to the floor. The rower can be stored in a folded position to conserve space. Store the rower in a location where children cannot tip it. Remove the batteries from the console when storing the rower for extended periods of time. To store the rower, first remove the frame pin and lift the rail upward (1).
FEATURES OF THE CONSOLE HOW TO USE THE CONSOLE Make sure that batteries (not included) are installed in the console (see assembly step 8 on page 10). If there is a sheet of plastic on the console, remove the plastic. IMPORTANT: The console will provide exercise feedback when the seat moves. When the seat is locked, the console will not provide exercise feedback. 1. Turn on the console. To turn on the console, press any button on the console or simply begin rowing. 2. Set a workout goal if desired.
As you exercise, the console will provide instant feedback. If you have set a workout goal, the display will show zeros and the console will beep when you reach your goal; if you continue to exercise, the display will begin to count upward. 4. When you are finished exercising, the console will turn off automatically. To pause the console, stop rowing. The word STOP will appear in the display. To continue your workout, simply resume rowing. The console has an auto-off feature.
EXERCISE GUIDELINES Aerobic Exercise—If your goal is to strengthen your cardiovascular system, you must perform aerobic exercise, which is activity that requires large amounts of oxygen for prolonged periods of time. For aerobic exercise, adjust the intensity of your exercise until your heart rate is near the highest number in your training zone. WARNING: Before beginning this or any exercise program, consult your physician.
