Before using for the first time, follow cleaning instructions in the “Cleaning your Food
Strainer & Sauce Maker” section.
1. To begin assembly, clamp the strainer body to a table or countertop. Do not
overtighten.
2. Ensure that the C-Clip and seal ring are attached to the shaft. Rub a drop of
vegetable oil over the seal ring to lubricate it.
3. Place the screw end of the shaft through the hole in the back of the food
strainer body. Place the spring over the shaft inside the strainer body.
4. Place the handle over the exposed screw end of the shaft, making sure that
the hole in the handle fits completely over the shaft. Use the knob to secure
the handle to the food strainer. Note: One side of the knob is flat, the other
has an indentation in the plastic. The flat side faces the strainer body and
ensures that the handle attaches flush to the body.
5. Place the rubber gasket on the inside rim of the screen. Place the spiral
inside the screen, then place them over the spring and shaft in the strainer
body. Align the arrow on the screen with the arrow on the strainer body and
turn the direction indicated by the arrow to attach or remove screen. Tighten
the screw on the screen to lock the screen in place.
6. Gently attach the small end of the spout to the small end of the screen.
Once the spout is on, attach the squirt guard. The squirt guard has 2
different sized openings. The small side fits over the spout and the larger
attaches to the large end of the screen. Note: Do not try to attach the large
side of the squirt guard to the strainer body. It will not fit.
7. Place the hopper base into the top of the strainer body and then place the
hopper into the hopper base. The food strainer is now ready to use.
