5. Overview
VMA440
The VMA440 is a USB-to-serial UART/TTL interface based on the FT232RL chip. It offers an easy way to add
USB capability to microcontrollers, e.g. Arduino
®
or VMA439.
Use this to give your own breadboard Arduino
®
USB capability for bootloading or downloading sketches.
FTDI FT232RL USB to TTL serial converter adapter module 5 V and 3.3 V for Arduino
®
(5-3.3 V can be
selected by a switch on the board).
RXD/TXD and power LEDs are provided on the VMA440.
The board is over-current protected by a 500 mA self-restoring fuse.
The VMA440 includes a DTR pin needed to auto-reset Arduino
®
when downloading to your device.
