WASHER INSTALLATION • Model LCR7244H comes equipped for portable installation. • Model LCR5232H comes equipped for permanent installation. Both models can be converted to portable or permanent installation. In the U.S.A., call our Consumer Assistance Center and in Canada, contact your authorized Whirlpool dealer to obtain kit numbers. ELECTRICAL REQUIREMENTS wWARNING A 120-volt, 60-Hz., AC-only, 15-or 20-ampere fused electrical supply is required. Time-delay fuse or circuit breaker is recommended.
WASHER INSTALLATION PORTABLE ONE-FAUCET CONNECTION (CONT.) To disconnect washer: • Unplug the electrical power cord and put it back in its storage area. • Turn the water faucet off. • Press the red water flow button to release the water pressure. • Move the locking collar down and pull the hose connector down to disengage from the faucet adapter. • Drain water from the hoses through the hose connector. USING YOUR WASHER wWARNING Fire Hazard Never place items in the washer that are dampened with gasoline or other flammable fluids. No washer can completely remove oil. Do not dry anything that has ever had any type of oil on it (including cooking oils). Doing so can result in death, explosion, or fire. STARTING YOUR WASHER 1. Measure detergent and pour it into the washer. If desired, add powdered or liquid colorsafe bleach. 2. Drop a sorted load of clothes loosely into your washer.
USING YOUR WASHER STARTING YOUR WASHER (CONT.) 7. Select a wash/rinse temperature with the Temperature selector. Match the water temperature with the type of fabric and soils being washed. • Use the warmest water safe for fabric. • Follow garment label instructions. HOT: 111°F (44°C) or above. – Whites and pastels. – Heavy and greasy soils. WARM: 90 to 110°F (32 to 43°C). – Bright colors. – Moderate to light soils. COLD: 70 to 90°F (21 to 32°C). – Colors that bleed or fade. – Light soils.
USING YOUR WASHER LOADING Loading suggestions For these suggested full-sized loads, set the Load Size selector to the highest load size setting.
USING YOUR WASHER SELECTING A CYCLE AND TIME (CONT.) 7-cycle model 5-cycle model Super Wash cycle Delicates Cycle (on 7-cycle models) The Delicates cycle features a reduced agitation speed for gentle soil removal, and low spin speeds to reduce wrinkling. Use this 8-minute cycle to clean delicate items and washable knits that are lightly to moderately soiled. The Super Wash cycle (18 minutes) features an extended wash time for washing heavily soiled loads that need maximum soil removal.
USING YOUR WASHER USING THE LIQUID CHLORINE BLEACH DISPENSER Always measure liquid chlorine bleach. Do not guess. Never use more than 1 cup (250 mL) for a full load. Use less with smaller Load Size settings. Follow manufacturer’s directions for safe use. Use a cup with a pouring spout to avoid spilling. 1. Load the washer. 2. Pour measured liquid chlorine bleach carefully into the dispenser. Do not let bleach splash, drip, or run down into washer basket. Undiluted bleach will damage any fabric it touches.
USING YOUR WASHER MANUAL CLEAN LINT FILTER Clean filter after every load. 1. To remove, grasp the top of the fabric softener dispenser with both hands. Pull upward to remove top of fabric softener dispenser. Lint filter is attached to the end of the shaft. 2. Wash or wipe the lint filter clean. 3. Push lint filter and fabric softener dispenser firmly back into agitator. Lint filter UNDERSTANDING NORMAL WASHER SOUNDS Your new washer may make sounds that your old one didn’t.
USING YOUR WASHER UNDERSTANDING WHAT HAPPENS IN EACH CYCLE When the Cycle Selector knob is set to a number and the Start/Pause button is pushed, the washer fills (to the selected load size) before agitation and timing start. The washer begins agitating immediately after filling; agitation occurs only with the washer lid down. CARING FOR YOUR WASHER CLEANING YOUR WASHER Cleaning the exterior Cleaning the interior Use a soft, damp cloth or sponge to wipe up any spills such as detergent or bleach. Occasionally wipe the outside of your washer to keep it looking new. Clean your washer interior by mixing 1 cup (250 mL) of chlorine bleach and 2 cups (500 mL) of detergent. Pour this into your washer and run it through a complete cycle using hot water. Repeat this process if necessary.

INSTALLATION DE LA LAVEUSE LAVEUSE MOBILE – RACCORDEMENT À UN ROBINET (SUITE) Débranchement de la laveuse : • Débrancher le cordon d’alimentation électrique; ranger le cordon dans l’espace de remisage. • Fermer le robinet. • Appuyer sur le bouton de puisage rouge pour faire disparaître la pression de l’eau. • Tirer la bague de verrouillage vers le bas et tirer le raccord de tuyau vers le bas pour le dégager de l’adaptateur du robinet. • Vider l’eau des tuyaux flexibles à travers le raccord de tuyau.
UTILISATION DE LA LAVEUSE wAVERTISSEMENT Risque d’incendie Ne jamais mettre des articles humectés d’essence ou d’autres fluides inflammables dans la laveuse. Aucune laveuse ne peut complètement enlever l’huile. Ne pas faire sécher des articles qui ont été salis par tout genre d’huile (y compris les huiles de cuisson). UTILISATION DE LA LAVEUSE SÉLECTION D’UN PROGRAMME ET DE LA DURÉE DE LAVAGE (SUITE) Modèle à 7 programmes Cycle Super Lavage (Super Wash) Programme articles délicats (Delicates) (sur modèles à 7 programmes) Le programme articles délicats comporte une vitesse d’agitation réduite pour enlever délicatement la saleté et un essorage à faible vitesse pour réduire le froissement. Utiliser ce programme de 8 minutes pour nettoyer des articles délicats et les tricots lavables, de légèrement à modérément sales.
UTILISATION DE LA LAVEUSE VIDANGE ET ESSORAGE Le programme vidange et essorage seulement aide à raccourcir la durée de séchage pour certains tissus épais ou des articles de soins spéciaux en enlevant l’excès d’eau. 1. Tourner le bouton sélecteur des programmes à Drain & Spin Only. 2. Appuyer sur le bouton Start/Pause. La laveuse exécute l’opération de vidange, ensuite celle d’essorage. UTILISATION DU DISTRIBUTEUR D’EAU DE JAVEL Mesurer toujours l’eau de Javel. Ne pas verser une quantité approximative.
UTILISATION DE LA LAVEUSE UTILISATION DU DISTRIBUTEUR DE LIQUIDE ASSOUPLISSANT 1. Verser le détergent et placer la charge de linge dans le panier. 2. Verser le liquide assouplissant dans le distributeur d’assouplissant en employant la quantité recommandée sur l’emballage. Éviter de laisser tomber des gouttes ou une plus grande quantité de liquide assouplissant sur le linge. 3. Diluer le liquide assouplissant de tissu avec de l’eau tiède.
UTILISATION DE LA LAVEUSE LES BRUITS NORMAL DE LA LAVEUSE Il est possible que le nouveau laveuse émette des bruits que le précédent ne produisait pas. Comme ces bruits sont nouveaux, ils peuvent vous inquiéter. Les descriptions suivantes indiquent le genre de bruits qui peuvent être nouveaux et leur origine. Après le lavage et Avant le drainage Quand le programme transfère du lavage au drainage, vous pouvez entendre un bruit quand le pignon se réadapte.
ENTRETIEN DE LA LAVEUSE NETTOYAGE DE LA LAVEUSE Extérieur Intérieur Essuyer immédiatement les résidus de détergent, agent de blanchiment et autres produits renversés, avec une éponge ou un linge doux humide. Essuyer occasionnellement les surfaces externes de la laveuse pour maintenir son aspect neuf. Nettoyer la surface intérieure en mélangeant 1 tasse (250 mL) d’agent de blanchiment chloré avec 2 tasses (500 mL) de détergent.
