BEFORE USING THE WASHING MACHINE 1.Removing the packaging and check 6.Electrical connections • After unpacking, make sure that the washing machine is undamaged. Contact After-Sales Service or your local retailer. • Keep the packaging materials (plastic bags, polystyrene parts, etc.) out of reach of children, as they are potentially dangerous.
Home Appliances FIRST WASH CYCLE We recommend the first wash cycle be made without laundry. This will remove any residual water used in testing your washing machine. 1. Turn on the tap. 2.Close the appliance door. 3.Pour a small amount of detergent (about 30 ml) into the detergent dispenser . 4.Select a short program (see programme chart). 5.Press the “Start/Pause” button. Home Appliances DETERGENTS AND ADDITIVES Filling the detergents and additives 1. Pull out the detergent to its full extent. 2.Filling the detergent: • Programme with pre- and main wash. • Main wash programme without prewash. When using liquid detergent, extract the coloured insert from the detergent dispenser and put it in the compartment. The insert has a scale to make dosing easier.
WASHING PROGRAMME Selecting the programme: 1. Plug in the appliance. 2.Turn on the water supply tap. 3.Set the Programme Selector knob to the desired programme. 4.Depending on model the recommended temperature can be altered by pressing “+” or “-” button. 5.Select additional options, if desired, pressing the corresponding button.The indicator lights up. By pressing the button once more, this option can be turned off again. 6.Press the “Start/Pause” button.
Home Appliances Changing programme and options 1. Press the “Start/Pause” button. The “Start/Pause” button flashes. 2.Select the new programme, options and spin speed. 3.Press the “Start/Pause” button. The new programme resumes the wash programme at the same stage at which the preceding one was interrupted. For this programme do not add any further detergent. Programme interruption or pause To interrupt the running programme for a certain period and continue it at a later time: 1.
REMOVING THE FILTER 1. Switch off the appliance and unplug it. 2. Remove the coloured insert from the detergent dispenser and use it to open the filter cover. 3. Place a bowl beneath the filter cover. 4. Turn the filter slowly anti-clockwise until the grip is vertical; do not extract filter as yet. 5. Wait until all the water has drained out. 6. Now unscrew the filter completely and extract it. 7. Remove any foreign material from the filter. 8. Make sure the pump impeller is not obstructed. 9.
Home Appliances CARE AND MAINTENANCE Appliance exterior and control panel Door seal • Clean using a normal mild household cleaner (do not use abrasive products and no solvents). Do not use powerful cleaners that may attack the plastic components on your washing machine. • Dry with a soft cloth. • Clean with a damp cloth when necessary. • Periodically check the fold of the seal for foreign objects. Filter • Check and clean the filter two or three times a year (see “Removing the filter”).
Water hose mesh filter Check and clean periodically. For machines with a straight water supply hose “A” 1. Turn off the tap. 2.Unscrew the hose from the tap. 3.Clean the internal filter. 4.Screw the supply hose back onto the tap. 5.Unscrew the hose from the machine. 6.Remove the filter from the washing machine with pliers and clean it. 7.Replace the filter and screw the hose connection back on to the machine. 8.Turn on the tap and ensure that the connections are completely water-tight.
Home Appliances TROUBLESHOOTING GUIDE This washing machine is equipped with automatic safety functions which detect and diagnose faults at an early stage and react appropriately. Often, however, the faults detected are small enough to be solved in a matter of minutes. For example: The appliance will not start, no lamp lights up. Check whether: • the appliance is plugged in; • the wall socket is functioning correctly (use a table lamp or similar); • a programme is selected correctly.
a. Water inlet fault (no or insufficient water supply) The “Water tap” indicator is on or the display alternately shows “FH”. Switch off the appliance by turning the programme selector to the “ ” position and unplug it. Check whether: • the water tap is completely open, and the water supply pressure is sufficient; • the water inlet hose is kinked; • the mesh filters are clogged (see “Care and Maintenance” / “Water Hose Mesh Filters”); • the water inlet hose is frozen.
Home Appliances TRANSPORT AND HANDLING Never move the appliance by carrying by the worktop. 1.Unplug the appliance. 2.Turn off the tap. 3.Remove the water supply and drain hose. 4.Eliminate all water from the hoses and from the appliance (see “Removing the Filter”, “Draining Residual Water”). 5.Fit the transit bolts (obligatory) (see “Installation Instructions”). INSTALLATION Remove the transit bolts 1. Slacken the four bolts with the spanner supplied (Fig A). 2.Fully unscrew the bolts by hand. 3.
Adjust the feet If the floor is uneven, adjust the levelling feet as required (do not insert pieces of wood etc. under the feet): 1. Slacken the locknut using the spanner supplied. 2.Adjust the height of the foot, turning it by hand. 3.Tighten the locknut by turning it anti-clockwise towards the appliance casing. If the appliance is to be installed on a wooden floor, distribute the weight by placing it on a 60 x 60 cm sheet of plywood at least 3 cm in thickness. Secure the plywood sheet to the floor.
Home Appliances Connect the water inlet hose For models with straight hose “A” 1. Insert the dirt strainer (already premounted on the hose end or included in the accessories) into the threaded tap coupling. 2.Carefully screw the hose connection onto the tap preferably by hand. 3.Make sure there are no kinks in the hose. 4.Check water-tightness of tap and appliance connections by turning the tap completely on.
U.K. ONLY ELECTRICAL CONNECTION Do not use extension leads or multi sockets. Electrical connections must be made in accordance with local regulations. 1) Warning - this appliance must be earthed This appliance is normally supplied with a mains lead having a plug fitted in the factory which has been checked for correct earth continuity.
