BEFORE USING YOUR FREEZER • This product is a ventilated freezer (No Frost system) exclusively for domestic use. To make the best use of your freezer, please read the instruction booklet carefully for a description of the appliance and useful tips regarding storage of food. Keep this booklet for future consultation. The biggest advantage of a ventilated freezer is the total absence of ice and frost on the freezer walls and shelves, thanks to the process described below.
PRECAUTIONS AND GENERAL RECOMMENDATIONS • • • • • • • • Use the freezer only for storing frozen foods, freezing fresh food and producing ice cubes. Do not cover or close the vents of the freezer. Do not store glass containers with liquids in the freezer as they may burst. Do not eat ice cubes or ice lollies immediately after removing them from the freezer because they may cause "cold" burns. Do not allow children to play or hide inside the freezer; risk of becoming trapped inside or suffocating.
HOW TO OPERATE THE FREEZER This freezer can be used for storing frozen food and freezing fresh food. The freezer is designed to operate at room temperatures between 16ºC and 32ºC Starting up the freezer • There is no need to set the freezer temperature using the thermostat knob because it has already been preset in the factory. • Plug in the appliance. • The alarm is activated, since the temperature inside the freezer is not low enough to preserve food.
HOW TO OPERATE THE FREEZER How to freeze food and store fresh food. Wrap and seal the fresh food in: aluminium foil, clear film, impermeable plastic bags, polyethylene containers with lids, special freezer containers. • The food to be stored must be fresh, ripe and of the best quality. • Fresh vegetables and fruit must be frozen immediately after purchase, so as to retain the nutritive value, structure, consistency, colour and flavour. Meat and game must be hung before freezing.
HOW TO OPERATE THE FREEZER Storage of frozen foods. When buying frozen foods, make sure that: • • • • • • The wrapping or the package is intact or the food may deteriorate. If the package is swollen or has damp patches, it may not have been stored under optimal conditions and thawing may have already begun. Frozen foods should always be purchased last and thermal bags must be used for transport. Once you are home, place the frozen foods immediately in the freezer.
CARE AND MAINTENANCE 0. Periodically clean the condenser on the rear of the appliance, using a vacuum cleaner or a soft brush. Prolonged disuse (holidays, etc.) • • • • Empty the freezer. Disconnect it from the mains supply. Defrost and clean the inside. Leave the door open in order to prevent the formation of odours and eliminate internal humidity. TROUBLE SHOOTING GUIDE 1. The appliance does not operate.
CUSTOMER SERVICE Before calling for Customer Service: 1. See if you can fix the problem yourself (with the help of the "Trouble-Shooting Guide"). 2. Restart the appliance to see if the problem has cleared itself. If the result is negative, disconnect the appliance and repeat the operation after an hour. 3. If the problem persists, contact Customer Service.
ELECTRICAL CONNECTION “Warning - this appliance must be earthed” Fuse replacement If the mains lead of this appliance is fitted with a BS 1363A 13amp fused plug, to change a fuse in this type of plug use an A.S.T.A. approved fuse to BS 1362 type and proceed as follows: 1. Remove the fuse cover (A) and fuse (B). 2. Fit replacement 13A fuse into fuse cover. 3. Refit both into plug.
