GROUNDING • For all cord connected appliances: The microwave oven must be grounded. In the event of an electrical short circuit, grounding reduces the risk of electric shock by providing an escape wire for the electric current. The microwave oven is equipped with a cord having a grounding wire with a grounding plug. The plug must be plugged into an outlet that is properly installed and grounded. WARNING: Improper use of the grounding plug can result in a risk of electric shock.
This section discusses the concepts behind microwave cooking. It also shows you the basics you need to know to operate your microwave oven. Please read this information before you use your oven. Microwave energy is not hot. It causes food to make its own heat, and it's this heat that cooks the food. Microwaves are like TV waves, radio waves, or light waves. You cannot see them, but you can see what they do. A magnetron in the microwave oven produces microwaves.
