Testing your Range
Once the range has been installed, it’s necessary to test the correct installation of the gas and power supply. For this,
place the range on its final location and turn on the cooktop burners and the oven.
COOKTOP BURNERS
If your range has a glass cover, you must keep the cover open while you test the cooktop burners. Depending on the
model of your range, the appliance may have to be ignited with a match or 2 step electronic ignition. Follow this
sequence to test the electronic ignition:
For ranges with manual ignition (using a match or lighter):
1.
Light up a match and keep it a close distance from the burner that you desire
to turn on.
2. Turn the knob of the burner that you wish to turn on and turn counter
clockwise until you reach the maximum flame position.
3. If the burner does not turn on, turn the knob back to the off position and put
out the match.
4. Make sure that the gas supply is open, either if you are using a LP tank or
natural gas. Also make sure that the connections and pipes are not
kinked, bend or damaged.
5.
Once you have confirmed that there is gas on the line, light up another
match, put it close to the burner and turn the knob for that burner to the Max
position. The same sequence can be followed for the rest of the cooktop
burners.
6. Turn off all burners after the test is done.
Ranges with 2 step electronic ignition:
1.
If your range has the electronic ignition button, press and hold the button with the image next to
the left of the cooktop controls to the Hi position (maximum flame). See the following image. Press
and turn any of the four burner knobs to the max position (see figure on the right.)
You will hear a click, this is the spark’s noise, it will light up the flame, once it
is on, release the button. Move to step 6. If the flame does not light up or
you cannot hear the click, retry steps 2 to 5.
2. Turn the knob back to the OFF position, release the electronic ignition
button.
3.
When the spark is not working, make sure the range is connected to the
power supply. The electronic ignition system won’t work if the range is
unplugged.
