Only certain types of glass, glass-ceramic, ceramic, earthenware or other glazed utensils are suitable for cook-tops without breaking due to the sudden change in temperature.

Electric ignitors automatically light the burners each time the control knob is turned to LITE.

Home canning information The larger diameter of most water-bath or pressure canners combined with high heat settings for long periods of time can cause damage to the cook-top. To protect your cooktop: l l l l For best results, use a canner which can be centered over the surface burner. Do not place canner on two surface burners at the same time. Too much heat will build up and will damage the cooktop. Start with hot water. This reduces the time the control is set on high.

When cleaning the cooktop area or around the burner base, use care to prevent damage to the ignitor. If a sponge should catch the metal ignitor electrode, it could damage or break the electrode. lf the electrode is damaged or broken, the surface burner will not light. When cleaning the cooktop, leave the burner cap in place to protect the electrode from possible damage.
