FOR SERVICE TECHNICIAN’S USE ONLY
DO NOT REMOVE OR DESTROY
4. Gently lay washer on its right side
to access the ACU.
5. Visually check that the J15 connector
is inserted all the way into the ACU.
If visual check passes, go to step 6.
If connector is not inserted properly,
reconnect J15 and repeat step 2.
6. Remove connector J15 from the ACU.
With an ohmmeter, measure the resistance
across pins 5 and 6.
7. Resistance should be 20–30
when the pump is at room temperature.
If the reading is infinite (open), go to step 8.
If the reading is correct, go to step 12.
8. Remove the rear panel to access drain
pump. Verify that pump, pump filter, drain
hose, and air trap are free from obstructions.
9. Visually check the electrical connections
at the drain pump.
If visual check passes, go to step 10.
If connections are loose, reconnect the
electrical connections and repeat step 2.
10. With an ohmmeter, check harness for
continuity between the drain pump and ACU.
If there is continuity, go to step 11.
If there is no continuity, replace the lower
machine harness and repeat step 2.
11. With an ohmmeter, measure the resistance
across the two pump terminals. Resistance
should be 20–30 .
If the reading is infinite (open), replace the
drain pump assembly.
If the reading is correct, go to step 12.

12. If the preceding steps did not correct the
drain problem, replace the ACU.
Unplug washer or disconnect power.
Replace the ACU.
Reassemble all parts and panels.
Perform the Service Test Cycle
on page 5 to verify repair.

TEST #8: Heating Element
This test checks the heating element, wiring,
and ACU.
1. Unplug washer or disconnect power.
2. Gently lay washer on its right side
to access the ACU.
3. Disconnect connector J41 from the ACU.
4. Using an ohmmeter, measure the resistance
across pins 1 and 2 of connector J41.
If the resistance is 7-30 , the heating
element and wiring are good; go to step 8.
If the resistance is open, go to step 5.
5. Remove back panel to access the heating
element.
6. Disconnect the wire connectors from the
heating element. See Figure 8.
7. Using an ohmmeter, measure the resistance
across the two heating element terminals.
If the resistance is 7-30 , the heating
element is good; replace the lower main
harness.
If the resistance is open, replace the
heating element.
