Cómo limpiar su refrigerador antes de usarlo Una vez que usted haya quitado todos los materiales de empaque, limpie el interior de su refrigerador antes de usarlo. Vea las instrucciones de limpieza en “Cuidado de su refrigerador”. Puertas del refrigerador Reúna las herramientas y piezas necesarias y lea todas las instrucciones antes de comenzar la instalación. HERRAMIENTAS NECESARIAS: Llaves de cabeza hexagonal de ¹⁄₄" (6,35 mm) y ⁵⁄₁₆" (7,94 mm) y un destornillador de cabeza plana. IMPORTANTE: Antes de comenzar, fije el control del refrigerador a OFF (Apagado). Desenchufe el refrigerador o desconecte el suministro de energía. Saque los alimentos y cualquier puerta ajustable o recipientes de uso generalmanija de las puertas.
Quite las manijas (opcional) 6. Desconecte el cableado: Estilo 1 Estilo 1 ■ Desconecte el enchufe de cableado. 1. Apriete con su mano firmemente el frente del adorno. Deslice el adorno superior hacia arriba y el inferior hacia abajo de la manija. Separe las piezas del adorno de los tornillos de tope. Vea la ilustración 1. NOTA: En algunos modelos se incluyen unos ornamentos pequeños entre la manija y el adorno de la manija.
4. Alinee y reemplace la bisagra superior izquierda según se muestra. Vea la ilustración 4. Apriete los tornillos. ADVERTENCIA Peligro de Choque Eléctrico Reconecte las dos conexiones a tierra. 5. Usando un taladro inalámbrico, haga un orificio de ¼" (6,35 mm) en la tubería de agua fría que Ud. eligió. A B G C 6. La fábrica de hielo está equipada con un filtro de agua incorporado. Si las condiciones del agua local requieren un segundo filtro de agua, se debe instalar en la línea de agua de ¼" (6,35 mm) en cualquiera de las conexiones de la tubería. Obtenga un filtro de agua del distribuidor de electrodomésticos más cercano a su domicilio. Estilo 2 - Conexión a la línea de agua F E D A.
NOTA: A medida que sale aire del sistema, es posible que salgan chorros de agua repentinos del despachador. Cómo terminar la instalación ADVERTENCIA 3. Ponga la fábrica de hielo a funcionar abriendo la puerta del congelador y bajando el brazo de control de alambre. Vea la sección “Fábrica de hielo y depósito” para obtener más instrucciones sobre la operación de su fábrica de hielo. ■ Deje transcurrir 24 horas para la producción del primer lote de hielo.
USO DE SU REFRIGERADOR Cómo asegurar la debida circulación del aire Para asegurar las temperaturas correctas, debe permitir que el aire fluya entre las dos secciones. El aire frío entra por la parte inferior de la sección del congelador y continúa hacia arriba. Luego entra en la sección del refrigerador a través del orificio de ventilación superior. El aire regresa al congelador como se muestra. IMPORTANTE: ■ Su unidad no enfría cuando el control del REFRIGERADOR está en la posición de OFF (Apagado).
Control de temperatura del cajón convertible Despachadores de agua y hielo (en algunos modelos) (en algunos modelos) Puede ajustarse el control para que enfríe de manera apropiada las carnes o los vegetales. El aire dentro de la charola se enfría para evitar que partes de los alimentos se congelen y puede ajustarse para mantener la carne a las temperaturas de almacenaje recomendadas por el National Livestock and Meat Board (Consejo Nacional de Ganado y Carnes) de 28° a 32°F (-2° a 0°C).
Estilo 1 Estilo 2 LIGHT ICE CRUSH OFF CUBE ON NOTA: Para información sobre cómo cambiar el foco del despachador, vea “Cómo cambiar los focos”. Estilo 2 Para obtener hielo picado, los cubos son triturados antes de ser despachados. Esto puede retrasar un poco la distribución del hielo picado. El ruido proveniente del triturador de hielo es normal y los trozos de hielo pueden variar en tamaño.
Estilo 2 Siempre queda agua en el filtro. Es posible que se derrame un poco de esa agua. ■ Para apagar el despachador, presione y sostenga el botón LOCK OUT (Bloqueo desactivado) hasta que aparezca el indicador. Los despachadores de agua y hielo no funcionarán. Para desbloquear el despachador, presione el botón LOCK OUT (Bloqueo desactivado) hasta que el indicador desaparezca. Luego continúe distribuyendo hielo o agua como de costumbre.
5. Empuje el filtro nuevo dentro de la abertura en la rejilla de la base. A medida que se inserte el filtro, el botón eyector bajará. El botón eyector saltará nuevamente hacia afuera cuando el filtro esté enganchado por completo. 6. Jale suavemente la tapa para verificar que el filtro esté seguro en su lugar. 7. Enjuague el sistema de agua. Vea “Cómo enjuagar el sistema de agua después de cambiar el filtro”.

Portabotellas (en algunos modelos - Accesorio) Para instalar y quitar el portabotellas: 1. Instale el portabotellas alineándolo con las tres lengüetas ubicadas en el fondo del estante. Jale el portabotellas directamente hacia abajo hasta que se trabe en las lengüetas del estante como se muestra. 2. Para quitar el portabotellas, levántelo directamente hacia arriba y hacia afuera de las lengüetas del estante.

Acabado con aspecto inoxidable Satina®: Lave con una esponja limpia o un paño liso y un detergente suave en agua tibia. No use limpiadores ásperos o abrasivos ni limpiadores destinados a acero inoxidable. Seque meticulosamente con un paño suave. Cortes de corriente Estilo 2 ■ Quite la pantalla de luz sujetándola por los lados y apretando hacia el centro al mismo tiempo que la jala hacia adelante. ■ Vuelva a colocar la pantalla de luz insertando las lengüetas en los orificios ranurados en el revestimiento interno del congelador. Empuje la pantalla hacia adentro hasta que encaje en su lugar.
Mudanza Si Ud. muda su refrigerador a una casa nueva, siga los pasos a continuación para prepararse para la mudanza. 1. Si su refrigerador tiene fábrica de hielo automática: ■ Cierre el suministro de agua a la fábrica de hielo por lo menos un día antes. ■ Desconecte la tubería de agua que está atrás del refrigerador.
Las puertas no cierran completamente ■ ¿Está bloqueada la puerta? Mueva los paquetes de alimentos lejos de la puerta. ■ ¿Hay un recipiente o un estante bloqueando el paso? Empuje el recipiente o el estante nuevamente a la posición correcta. Hay acumulación de humedad en el interior NOTA: Es normal que se acumule un poco de humedad. ■ ¿Está húmeda la habitación? Esto contribuye a la acumulación de humedad.
■ El hielo tiene mal sabor, mal olor o un color grisáceo ■ ¿Son nuevas las conexiones de plomería? Las conexiones nuevas de plomería pueden producir un hielo descolorido o de mal sabor. ■ ¿Se han guardado los cubos de hielo por mucho tiempo? Deseche ese hielo. Lave el recipiente de hielo. Deje transcurrir 24 horas para que la fábrica de hielo haga hielo nuevo. ■ ■ ¿Está completamente cerrada la puerta del congelador? Cierre la puerta con firmeza.

IMPORTANT SAFETY INSTRUCTIONS WARNING: To reduce the risk of fire, electric shock, or personal injury when using your refrigerator, follow these basic precautions: Plug into a grounded 3 prong outlet. ■ Do not remove ground prong. ■ ■ ■ ■ Do not use an extension cord. Disconnect power before servicing. ■ Replace all parts and panels before operating. ■ ■ Remove doors from your old refrigerator. ■ Use nonflammable cleaner.
Clean Before Using Electrical Requirements After you remove all of the packaging materials, clean the inside of your refrigerator before using it. See the cleaning instructions in “Refrigerator Care.” Important information to know about glass shelves and covers: Do not clean glass shelves or covers with warm water when they are cold. Shelves and covers may break if exposed to sudden temperature changes or impact, such as bumping.
Water Supply Requirements Gather the required tools and parts before starting installation. Read and follow the instructions provided with any tools listed here. TOOLS NEEDED: ■ Flat-blade screwdriver ■ ■ ⁷⁄₁₆" (11.11 mm) and ¹⁄₂" (12.7 mm) open-end or two adjustable wrenches ¹⁄₄" (6.35 mm) nut driver ■ ¹⁄₄" (6.35 mm) drill bit ■ Cordless drill NOTE: Your refrigerator dealer has a kit available with a ¹⁄₄" (6.35 mm) saddle-type shutoff valve, a union, and copper tubing.
Refrigerator Doors Gather the required tools and parts and read all instructions before starting installation. TOOLS NEEDED: ¹⁄₄" (6.35 mm) hex-head socket wrench, ⁵⁄₁₆" (7.94 mm) hex-head socket wrench and a flat-blade screwdriver. IMPORTANT: Before you begin, turn the refrigerator control OFF. Unplug refrigerator or disconnect power. Remove food and any adjustable door or utility bins from doors.
Remove the Handles (optional) 6. Disconnect wiring: Style 1 Style 1 ■ Disconnect wiring plug. 1. Apply firm pressure with your hand on the face of trim. Slide top trim up and bottom trim down away from handle. Lift trim pieces off shoulder screws. See Graphic 1. NOTE: Some models include accent pieces between the handle and the handle trim. If your model includes the accents, slowly remove them with a flat-blade screwdriver before removing the handle screws.
4. Align and replace the top left hinge as shown. See Graphic 4. Tighten screws. WARNING NOTE: Having someone push against the top of the refrigerator takes some weight off the leveling screws and rollers. This makes it easier to adjust the screws. 4. Open both doors again and be sure that they close as easily as you like. If not, tilt the refrigerator slightly more to the rear by turning both leveling screws to the right.
Connect to Refrigerator Style 1 - Connection to Water Valve 1. Unplug refrigerator or disconnect power. 2. Attach the copper tube to the valve inlet using a compression nut and sleeve as shown. Tighten the compression nut. Do not overtighten. 3. Use the tube clamp on the back of the refrigerator to secure the tubing to the refrigerator as shown. This will help avoid damage to the tubing when the refrigerator is pushed back against the wall. 4. Turn shutoff valve ON. 5. Check for leaks.
Do not use with water that is microbiologically unsafe or of unknown quality without adequate disinfection before or after the system. Systems certified for cyst reduction may be used on disinfected waters that may contain filterable cysts. 2. Use a sturdy container to depress and hold the water dispenser lever for 5 seconds, then release it for 5 seconds. Repeat until water begins to flow.
Adjusting Controls Chilled Door Bin Give the refrigerator time to cool down completely before adding food. It is best to wait 24 hours before you put food into the refrigerator. The settings indicated in the previous section should be correct for normal household refrigerator usage. The controls are set correctly when milk or juice is as cold as you like and when ice cream is firm. Rotary Controls: Turn the control right (clockwise) to make the compartment colder.
To Dispense Water: 1. Press a sturdy glass against the water dispenser lever. 2. Remove the sturdy glass to stop dispensing. NOTE: Water may have an off-flavor if you do not use the dispenser periodically. Dispense enough water every week to maintain a fresh supply. 4. Remove the glass to stop dispensing. NOTE: The first few batches of ice may have an off-flavor from new plumbing and parts. Throw the ice away. Also, take large amounts of ice from the ice bin, not through the dispenser.
Dispenser Lock (on some models) The dispenser can be turned off for easy cleaning or to avoid unintentional dispensing by small children and pets. NOTE: The lock feature does not shut off power to the refrigerator, to the ice maker, or to the dispenser light. It simply deactivates the dispenser levers. Style 1 To turn off the dispenser, press the LOCK button until the indicator appears. The ice and water dispensers will not work. To unlock the dispenser, press the UNLOCK button until the indicator appears.
B C A (5 seconds on, 5 seconds off) for an additional 2 minutes. This will flush air from the filter and water dispensing system. Additional flushing may be required in some households. NOTE: As air is cleared from the system, water may spurt out of the dispenser. Using the Dispenser Without the Water Filter Cartridge You can run the dispenser without a water filter cartridge. Your water will not be filtered. 1. Remove the filter by pressing the eject button and pulling on the cap.

Door Bins To Remove and Replace the Bins: 1. Remove the bin by lifting it and pulling it straight out. 2. Replace the bin by sliding it in above the desired support and pushing it down until it stops. REFRIGERATOR CARE Cleaning WARNING Satina® stainless look finish: Wash with a clean sponge or soft cloth and a mild detergent in warm water. Do not use abrasive or harsh cleaners, or cleaners designed for stainless steel. Dry thoroughly with a soft cloth.
Dispenser Light (on some models) Style 1 Reach through the dispenser area to remove and replace the light bulb. Style 2 ■ Remove the light shield by grasping the sides and squeezing in toward the center and while pulling forward the shield. ■ Replace the light shield by fitting the tabs into the slotted holes in the freezer liner. Push in the shield until it snaps into place. A A. Dispenser Light Style 2 The dispenser lights are LEDs which should not need to be changed.
Power Interruptions If the power will be out for 24 hours or less, keep the door or doors closed (depending on your model) to help food stay cold and frozen. If the power will be out for more than 24 hours, do one of the following: ■ Remove all frozen food and store it in a frozen food locker. ■ Place 2 lbs (907 g) of dry ice in the freezer for every cubic foot (28 L) of freezer space. This will keep the food frozen for 2 to 4 days.
■ Is the dispenser light set to ON? The dispenser light will operate only when the levers are pressed. If you want the dispenser light to stay on continuously, set the dispenser light to ON, or NIGHT LIGHT or AUTO. See “Water and Ice Dispensers.” ■ Is the dispenser light set to NIGHT LIGHT or AUTO? If the dispenser is set to the NIGHT LIGHT or AUTO mode, be sure the dispenser light sensor is not blocked. See “Water and Ice Dispensers.
■ Kink in the water source line? A kink in the line can reduce water flow. Straighten the water source line. ■ Reverse osmosis water filtration system connected to your cold water supply? This can decrease water pressure. See “Water Supply Requirements.” Questions remain regarding water pressure? Call a licensed, qualified plumber. ■ Off-taste, odor or gray color in the ice ■ Has the dispenser arm been held in too long? Ice will stop dispensing when the arm is held in too long.
