PROTECTING THE ENVIRONMENT • Packing The packing consists of 100% recyclable material and is labelled with the recycling symbol . • Appliance The appliance is built from recyclable materials. It must be in accordance with local waste disposal regulations. Before scrapping: pull out the plug and cut off the power cable so that the appliance cannot be connected to the mains. • Eco-tips - Maximum load (depending on programme) minimises energy and water consumption.
WASHING - PREPARING THE LAUNDRY 1. Sort laundry as follows... • Fabric type / Care label Cotton, cotton/synthetic mix, synthetics, wool. • Colour Separate white from coloured items. Wash new coloured items separately. • Size Washing articles of different size together improves wash efficiency and distributes the load better in the drum. • Fabric delicacy Wash delicates separately: Select the appropriate special programme for machinewashable wool , curtains and other delicate items.
WASHING - DETERGENT AND ADDITIVES SELECTION • The type of detergent depends on: • the type of fabric (cotton, synthetics, delicates, wool). Note: Use only specific detergents for washing wool. • colour. • wash temperature. • degree and type of soiling. Notes: • Whitish residues on dark fabrics are due to the insoluble water softeners in modern phosphate-free detergents. If you notice this problem, shake or brush the affected items. or use a liquid detergent.
WASHING - DETERGENT AND ADDITIVES Notes: • • When using highly concentrated detergents, use the detergent ball provided with the detergent and place it directly in the drum to avoid dispensing problems. Do not use the dosing aid for continuous washing/drying. • For programmes with prewash, liquid detergents can be used for the prewash. In this case only use powder detergents for the main wash.
WASHING - SELECTING SPECIAL OPTIONS 1. Intensive Rinse • leads to extended rinsing time and higher water level, thereby improving rinsing performance. • particularly suitable for areas with very soft water, when rinsing baby articles and items belonging to allergy sufferers. • the drainage water is reduced to below 60 °C , safeguarding drains of older buildings. 2. Rinse Hold • the laundry remains in the last rinse water without being spun: this avoids staining or increased creasing.
WASHING - DOOR LOCK / PROGRAMME END DOOR LOCK PROGRAMME END The door locks automatically after the programme start until the end of the programme. After the appliance has been switched on and the desired programme has been selected, the door is locked during the entire wash programme. This also applies to programmes which finish with “Rinse hold” (see programme chart) If the programme selector knob is set to position or the electricity supply is interrupted, after approx. two minutes the door is released.
DRYING - GENERAL INFORMATION Programme interruption Not suitable for machine drying • Particularly delicate textiles, e.g. curtains made of synthetic fibres, wool items, silk, fabrics with metal inserts, nylon stockings, large items, e.g. anoraks, bed spreads, duvets, sleeping bags and feather bedding, as well as items containing mainly foam rubber or rubber-like material, must not be machine-dried.

Second cycle After completion of the first drying cycle, set the drying programme selector knob to position and remove laundry. • Switch off the appliance by pressing the “ON/OFF” button.
DRYING - COLD PHASE / PROGRAMME END Cold phase • • Each programme contains a 10-minute cold phase prior to program completion to allow the laundry and the drum to cool down. The cold phase must not be shortened, interrupted or even left out: increased creasing and danger of burning. Programme end • • The end of the programme is signalled by a buzzer. This serves to remind you that the drying programme is finished and that the laundry can be removed.
REMOVING THE FILTER / DRAINING RESIDUAL WATER WHEN SHOULD THE FILTER BE REMOVED? • • • Check/clean the filter regularly, at least 2 or 3 times per year.
