Annnual start-up
General:
• Address reported problems, page 66.
• Inspect boiler area, page 66.
• Inspect boiler interior, page 66.
• Inspect condensate drain system, page 66.
• Inspect all piping for leaks, page 66.
• Inspect gas piping, page 66.
• Inspect the water system, page 66.
• Check water system chemistry, page 66
• Inspect expansion tank, page 67.
• Inspect air openings, page 67.
• Inspect vent system and air piping,
page 67.
• Inspect boiler heating surfaces, page 67.
• Inspect igniter, page 67.
• Inspect recuperator, page 68.
• Inspect temperature mixing system,
page 68.
• Inspect limit controls and cutoffs, page 68.
• Inspect gauges, page 68.
• Inspect blower motor, page 68.
• Inspect oiled-bearing circulators, page 68.
• Inspect boiler relief valve, page 69.
Additional if combustion or
performance indicates the need:
• Follow procedures under Cleaning boiler

• Clean heat exchanger.
• Remove and clean burner using
compressed air only.
• Vacuum the blower.

• Check condensate drain system
• Check relief valve
Periodically
• Test low water cutoff (if used)

this manual and in component literature shipped with the boiler.
Failure to perform the service and maintenance could result in
damage to the boiler or system. Failure to follow the directions
in this manual and component literature could result in severe
personal injury, death or substantial property damage.
